The Space Needle is all awash in Seahawks blue and green with the iconic '12' flag flying high above as are other buildings in the city.
Taking a break from the red ornamment. This is another trail which ends (or begins along the waterfront in Port Angles, WA., my new hometown. Have I said yet how much I like it here? One of the reasons is Seahawk fever. I'm not a football fan, but even I cannot escape the fervor of the fans....the 12! This picture is of another random tree (next to the trail) decorated in Seahawk colors. Fun, no? I am told that there are many elves who have retired here and are very, very bored.
There are four new Seahawk Uniforms available on the website in small quantities.

There was one sporting occasion I had to go to before leaving and something I had never previously done and that is to go to an American Football game. I was there just before the season got underway so just about made it to the final home warm up game before the season proper got underway.
Although this was a pre-season friendly you would not have known as the hype, razzmatazz and intensity for the match seemed to my untrained eye to surely be the same as if this were a fully competitive match.
I found the match bewildering and a little frustrating due to the stop start nature of the sport. There was no doubting the passion of the crowd though - they were whipped up into a frenzy by the end of the fourth quarter. The cheerleaders helped stoke the crowd too - as an evening's entertainment it could not be beat. I just wish I understood the rules better!
The Seahawks and Cowboys don't normally get to play each other as they are in different leagues. The Seahawks won fairly comfortably setting down a marker for the season. They managed to get into the end of season play offs fairly comfortably but it would be no repeat of their 2014 triumph.
Unfortunately I wasn't allowed a camera in the stadium so these pictures were taken on my rather poor quality mobile phone

This photo is a final tribute to the Seattle Seahawks and its fans. The Seahawks are our city’s team for the National Football League (NFL) which -- if not for the foul-weather conditions during a game against the Chicago Bears a few weeks ago -- may have possibly resulted in our ascension to the 45th Superbowl showdown. Alas, it was not meant to be this year, but the Seahawks had a good season nevertheless.
This image was taken from the upper levels of Qwest Field, the stadium that hosts of the Seahawks. Located in the older neighborhood of south downtown (SODO), one can see the city’s skyline rising above in the background.
By the way, the title is intended for the photograph. It would be rather interesting if the city actually had a neighborhood called “Seahawk Village”.
