A household sponge is a cleaning product that absorbs liquids very well. The spaces between the fibers absorb water and prevent it from flowing back immediately. The water remains trapped inside the sponge until it is wrung out.
In the past, the dried remains of sponge animals were primarily used as sponges. Today, most household sponges are made of viscose. Vegetable sponges are also available. These so-called luffa sponges are made from dried cucurbits.

What suspiciously looks like gift wrapping ribbons, actually is a copper (and other materials) scouring cloth for scratch-free cleaning of Ceran stove tops or pots, and pans. It's double-layered, almost like a glove (but with two open sides).
For the photo, I placed it over a small, translucent, tube-like container with the intention of separating the two layers and also preventing it from collapsing, as it's rather soft.
At first, I focused on the foreground, but the results were too busy and a little chaotic, even, due to the cloth's weave. Then, I focused on the background, those tiny copper ribbon tangles, which turned the first cloth layer into nice bokeh balls.
I also wanted to add a little extra bling, but the light stars (when focusing on the foreground) didn't turn out nicely this time, and focusing on the copper balls in the background didn't yield any stars at all. However, the star filter created a grid-like pattern in the bokeh balls, and I decided to leave it that way because it mimics the general weave pattern of the scouring cloth.
I am very busy today and will catch up with you tonight.
HMM, Everyone!

Stainless steel scrub pads are used to clean tough grime and grease off stainless steel pans and other kitchenware, and they are effective for this purpose because they are abrasive enough to tackle baked-on food without damaging the underlying pan's performance or lifespan! These scrubbers are a must-have tool for every household for cleaning stubborn stains.

An abrasive pad seen very close up showing the textures and details held in the tightly woven metal fibres.
I bought these sponges at TJ Maxx in New York when I went looking for some last little practical souvenirs. They doubled up nicely as padding in my suitcase too.

Trying to decide where the thin layer of focus will land on a scrub pad is quiet trying. Scotch Brite Copper scrub pad for cast iron cookware. Frame is 1/2 inch square or 13mm square.

Recently, my husband surprised me with a whole loofah, freshly purchased from our little town. I sliced off a piece for myself to use as a natural exfoliant in the shower—its textured surface is perfect for a gentle scrub. Before putting it to use, I carefully removed the seeds, setting them aside with hopes of growing my own loofah plant.
