I've driven by this boxcar a ton of times, but I recently took the time to photograph it. You never know when these sorts of things will magically go away/get scrapped, so get it while you can!
This exceptionally modelable scene is about a block away from the former Santa Fe station in Baldwin City, KS. The boxcar serves as a storage facility for a local tire yard, and although the ends are now silver, the rest of the paint has held up remarkably well.
The CP 100404 was built in October 1962, and was part of a group of 500 (100000-100499) combo door (14' opening) 40' boxcars.
Retro "script"-liveried CP 7013 and GEVO 8851 creep into Milwaukee's Muskego Yard with an east/southbound manifest. On the bluff in the background are the Mitchell Park Domes, which house horticultural treasures and natural history exhibits.
