Saturday was pretty epic. I took a day off of working on my Sundance Screenwriters App to go with Stefanie to LA to the experience known as hitRECord at the Movies.
We treated it like a road trip. Our first stop was Costa Mesa to have Coolhaus ice cream sandwiches. AMAZING. Stop two was the Getty where we spent a few hours wandering the gardens and taking pictures. It was an amazing day to be outdoors and it was a beautiful stop. We finally landed at the Vista Theatre for hitrecord.
I watched the hitrecord Summer in the City shows last summer and wanted to be there, so it was already a plus to be able to go to one of the live shows this time, but it was truly legendary. Jared Geller the producer chose me as one of the recorders to help by recording Joseph Gordon-Levitt's entrance to start the show and Joe talked to me (and recognized me from the site!). I also met Marke, the creative genius behind The Made Shop.
I would have loved to see more hitrecorders but it was so chaotic it didn't happen. Maybe next time I'll need a "mrbosslady" name tag so people recognize me. :)

10-23-19 | Sun-E Photo of the Day: The Department of Media and Communication; Project Write, Incorporated; the Shenandoah Valley Writing Project; the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema; and Four Color Fantasies collaborated to present a Young Screenwriters Conference on Oct. 12, in Henkel Hall.
The keynote speaker and workshop presenter was Joe Kelly of the Man of Action writers group. Kelly is the writer of the graphic novel, "I Kill Giants," as well as the screenwriter of the film adapted from the book. Man of Action writes for Cartoon Network and currently writes for "Ben 10" and "Generator Rex." Kelly is also the writer for Deadpool comics.
More than 60 students and their advisers spent the morning with Kelly, ate in the dining hall, and participated in workshops led by Shenandoah instructors Assistant Professor of Media & Communication Kelley Crowley, Ph.D.; Director in Residence-Film Production Program and Adjunct Instructor Blayne Weaver; and Director of the Film Studio at Shenandoah Paul DiFranco.
