...like my father before me"

For me, and each day I discovered many Star Wars fans, the character of Boba Fett was one of the more charismatic and eye-attractive, even though that on the originals Episode V and VI he had only four lines of dialogue, and six-and-a-half minutes of screentime.

But after that, an entire cult was developed after him and and all the Mandalorian creed. Was it the helmet, the armor, I don't know, but a whole fandom was over there, in all generations. The new series, starting with The Mandalorian, and then The Book of Boba Fett, have stated that they are truly appreciated by the Star Wars fans.

In my humble opinion, The Mandalorian has been the most creative and intelligent in the Star Wars universe.

Ajaynagar, Kolkata.

It was nice to see Cleo and Deuce have some quality screentime! They've been there since the beginning so it's nice to have the subplot star these two.

My Kids always seem to have there face pointed at some sort of screen, so its not that hard to get a faceless portrait.

Not really happy with my entry this week, but I do like the light. I really struggled to pin down any ideas for what was a really great theme, so its time to move on, bring on week 20.

'Mind...' - a series about where our mind is nowadays, as we walk through the world...

I am very excited for more Boba Fett and Fennec Shand screentime.

After the fifth time trying to upload this twat, I finally have the first order up.

Be sure to stick around at the end or just skip there because I made two extra figures :)

I'm sure everyone remembers the Imperial tank which had some screentime during the ambush on Jedha in Rogue One.

The TX-225 GAVw (Groud Assault Vehicle, wheeled) "Occupier" is a tracked vehicle produced by Rothana Heavy Engineering, used by Imperial forces as a patrol and transport vehicle. It has a crew of three (Commander, driver and gunner/technician) and armed with six Dymek MK 2e/w laser cannons, two pairs in the rotating turrets on the sides and one pair fixed in the front.

I originally wanted to slightly modify the official Lego set but when I saw a close-up of the tracks during the movie I was really excited as a tracked SW vehicle combines both my interests, Star Wars and WWII-era armored fighting vehicles. With the availability of some detailed images and a cutaway (really useful!) from the new Rogue One visual dictionary I then decided for a complete rebuild instead - with a three man crew and all details included such as an accurate interior and opening hatches. The actual tank used in the movie was based on an Alvis Stormer flatbed, of which the only major modification was the addition of side panels covering the tracks. Photos of this AFV were also really useful as an addition to the reference material.

I've only got an LDD so far, but I plan to build it with real bricks in the near future. Enjoy!

MOC of one of the coolest designs from Treasure Planet, the disney CGI/2D animated movie from 2002. The reference for this piece was about 3 seconds of screentime this ship gets

A member of The Order Of The Four Red Dragons, an secret assasination order is preforming an attack on a group of Imperial Japanese soldiers during the Second Sino-Japanese War.

The Order Of The Four Red Dragons is an ancient secret society consist of mercenaries and masters of their martial arts forms who were known that they didn’t had affiliation with any nation, but only with the organisation itself. They are known to perform assassinations, espionage, infiltration, sabotage and guerrilla warfare. They fought for what was right as they fought for the people. From local gangs till entire governments. The order was also responsible for the rise and fall of many dynasties from China to Japan. Their most notable action was during the Second Sino-Japanese War and WWII, where they fought against the Imperial Japanese Army. Members of the Japan branch of the order were successful to infiltrate the army in order to gather intelligence and falsify information regarding troop movements so for example the Japanese Troops would be marching into a trap where they will be finished off by the other members of the Order.

This was a concept that was originally going to appear in my brickfilm about the Second Sino-Japanese War, but it was cut because of the time limit and that others scenes had a much higher priority to add than this one that carried little weight in the general story telling.

Alltrough some members did appeared in the brickfilm about the Second Sino-Japanese War and also Lego War: Battle Of Mo-Wol, they didn't got enough screentime to be easily spotted or recognized.

In overal I really like how this shot turned out and this concept might become a reality in the future.

i fell for the hype and was seduced by the trailer for the new GoPro 12 Black . . . .

will i ever learn . . . .

Socrates, who lived about 2,500 years ago, is supposed to have complained about the youth of his day, though, like Yogi Berra, he did not really say most of the stuff he said...

Imagine what he would say to see these youngsters glued to their phones instead of just relaxing on the beach. They may be checking the weather app to verify what the weather is like at the beach, or sending text messages to one another...

At the end of her iGEN book, Dr. Jean Twenge writes that iGen’ers are scared, maybe even terrified. Growing up slowly, raised to value safety and frightened by the implications of income inequality, they have come to adolescence in a time when their primary social activity is staring at a small rectangular screen that can like them or reject them. The devices they hold in their hands have both extended their childhoods and isolated them from true human interaction. As a result, they are both the physically safest generation and most mentally fragile… If they can shake themselves free of the constant clutch of their phones and shrug off the heavy cloak of their fear, they can still fly. And the rest of us will be there, cheering them on.

So who watched the Ghouls Rule DVD yet? I thought it was cute (tho, I still love Why Do Ghouls Fall In Love a bit more than this and Skull Shores). Frankie was adorbs, I liked the little b-story with Draculaura and Clawdeen, which was hilarious, tho it didn't really keep them in the general storyline which made it awkward when they popped up in the end and got a GR fashion while Lagoona, who was pretty much part of it all, got stuck in her default. I wish the made a mermaid/fish-fabulous version of her, too. I did love that Cleo had some screentime as well. Abbey had the funny one-liners and I liked that they included the new gals like V, Ro and Becca. Scary cute and perfect for Halloween.

I finally got to watch the film today and I will say it is one of the top notch films that DC has ever made.

Joker is set in Gotham during the 80s and follows the failed life of comedian/clown Arthur Fleck, who descends into madness and insanity as the film progresses. That’s the basic premise. While I won’t say much for the people who still haven’t watched it yet, this is one of the best takes on a villain/comic character, while retaining most of the core origin story, Joker’s story makes it more unique and interesting with twists.

Joaquin Phoenix is at the peak of his career and delivers a haunting, chillingly powerful performance that is almost unrecognizable physically and mentally, sometimes you can’t tell if he’s actually himself—in addition to his method acting and losing weight. The film is also director Todd Phillips’ best work as of late. The supporting cast (and a great addition of incorporating the Batman mythos faithfully) works well, despite their limited screentime.

Joker’s themes handle mental illnesses well, while also treading on society and reflecting on today’s issues. The commentaries within the sprawl of a urban city, how people are underlooked and treated badly, and politics. The film also seems to be drawing comparison to what’s happening around at home, especially violence and riots.

Last but not least is music, other than old songs incorporated into the film, is also quite scary that at times you feel like Joker is a more of a horror movie itself.

This film gets a magnificent 10/10 from me, much to the portrayal, dark tones, themes, music and intensity. It’s bound to be divisive and one of the most talked films in years to come. I’ll rank Phoenix below Heath Ledger as character.

P.S. No post credits scene. It’s very standalone. Very good feeling of watching it like other psychological thrillers e.g. Black Swan, another masterpiece.

So I went to see The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug on Thursday, and I loved it! It was much better than the first, it had a faster pace, some new settings, and SMAUG!!! While the filmed further lost accuracy to the book in this installment, I welcomed many of Peter Jackson's additions to the story, such as (*spoilers ahead!*) a romance between Thorin's nephew Kili and a new character, the Elven warrior Tauriel. I wish Beorn had gotten more screentime, he was such an intriguing character! The film also saw further development of the Necromancer subplot, with Gandalf investigating the tombs of the Názgul at the High Fells and later confronting Azog and the Necromancer himself at Dol Guldur. The spider sequence in Mirkwood was well done, and I loved the Barrel Chase scene! Bard was a neat character to see, and I also enjoyed Stephen Fry as the Master of Laketown. Perhaps my favorite part of the film was Smaug! He looked fantastic, and Benedict Cumberbatch's voice was spot-on! The fight scene at the end between the Dwarves and Smaug was a bit over the top, but it was still an entertaining bit. The movie left off on a cliffhanger, and now I have to wait a whole year to see the final installment, There and Back Again! Anyway, I thought the film was very well done and a huge improvement from the first!

I hope you enjoyed the above poster!

Note: I don't yet own the Necromancer minifig, so I applied LEGO's printing digitally onto a plain black minifig.

Credit goes to lego3x11l for creating the awesome Azog decals!

So I decided to watch Aquaman with my parents, the first time in 2-3 years since we’ve watched a movie together (long story, but it’s mostly them being busy and me studying overseas). Guess what, it’s an awesome film for Christmas.

Aquaman is set one year after Justice League, but it barely makes references to the wider DCEU, making it its own standalone movie, which means you don’t have to watch previous movies to know too much of the character. Basically if you know a lot about the New 52 story, then this movie is for you as well. Storyline is simple, from his struggle to outsider and half human, half Atlantean heritage to becoming king (slightly spoiled).

But it’s James Wan’s vision that makes this movie so good, he brings a fresh worldbuilding narrative that stands out as one of the good DCEU movies, possibly one of the biggest set in such a big environment in the sea. If I had to say something about the cast, it’s superb. Jason Momoa steals the role for the third time after BvS and JL, and nails it absolutely as Aquman. Amber Heard as Mera is also one of my favourite characters, she’s totally kickass and has good chemistry shared with Momoa, and the movie shows her abilities well.

For the supporting cast and villains, Atlanna (Nicole Kidman) is also badass as well, she’s not your average queen. There’s also Willem Dafoe as a strong ally, Vulko, who you might recognise as the Green Goblin in 2002’s Spider Man and this time he plays a good guy as well. Yahya’s Black Manta was totally a scene stealer, from the accurate armour/costume like the rest of the characters, he’s pretty brutal when he looks for revenge. I’d also like to say Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master does share a bit of similarity to brother related villains in superhero movies, but he’s a cool villain and is enjoyable with his performance.

Tom Curry and Nereus are also interesting characters despite limited screentime. The Trench appear as CGI monsters and partially practical as well, and frankly they’re horrifying, exactly like the comic run.

Pros: The acting, characters, visuals, tone, choreography, worldbuilding, humour, action, and lore are all done so well, I guess this is really the DCEU’s new direction headed towards better movies. It has lots of heart and dedication that makes it a good film. Costumes, weapons, superpowers and are really accurate.

Cons: Running time is a bit too long, at a few points it gets boring but then you’ll forget it. There’s a few scenes of bad green screen, but out of such a big film, it’s a “see it then you’ll forget it” situation, sorta.

Bonus: There’s a drum playing octopus, a pop version of Toto’s Africa, the awesome soundtrack, underwater talking with air bubbles, an actual big fish talking with a special appearance from Mary Poppins aka Julie Andrews, Aquaman’s aquatic and fish abilities, the post credits tease.

Overall, I’ll give this a 9.5/10, the second movie ranked in my rating below Wonder Woman (my first and top). Its success has potential to lead into more good movies, because I love the direction they’re headed towards now. This movie is a definite watch and recommendation, and totally one of the best superhero movie of 2018.

Captain America: Civil War I went to see it with my son and my review will come in 2 parts. The 1st part will be spoiler-free. The 2nd part (which will be well marked) will include spoilers.

PART 1: Spoiler Free Review:

1) IMO this is not only the best MCU film to date, it's probably the best Superhero film to date (though I may need a 2nd viewing as this 1st viewing hasn't fully baked in yet)

2) Do you like action? Get your popcorn ready. This is a thrilling ride from start to finish and gives you way more than your money's worth. Buckle in and enjoy the ride.

3) The story was very well done. I won't get into specific plot details (my full spoiler review will come in Pt. 2 below), so I will say that I was pleasantly surprised at how well laid out both sides were. Whether you are Pro-Team Cap or Pro-Team Iron Man, you will walk away with a compelling viewpoint from either side -- and the tough choices each side must make.

4) At its core (despite its offering of eye candy and action packed sequences) this film / story is about universally relatable human values: friendship, family, loyalty -- things that transcend the super hero genre -- which is why I think this movie connects.

In sum, this is an amazing film and while DC's offering BvS left me feeling empty, CW left me with the complete opposite emotion, full -- very full -- on multiple levels. I will def. be seeing this again.

For those who will be seeing this when it opens (wherever you are) -- you are in for a treat.

☆☆☆☆☆ stars out of 5.

************************************************************************************

*** PT. 2: FULL SPOILER REVIEW // YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!! ***

Wow. Where to even begin, this film knocked my socks off. I mean, I knew I was in for a ride, but boy it was even better than my expectations. That is probably the most succinct and best praise I could give it -- because I had pretty high expectations. The audience was clapping at the end. When was the last time you went to a film that had the audiences clapping? That to me is a very quick and dirty litmus test whether a movie hit it out of the park. I left the theater beaming.

Some general thoughts:

1) Marvel may have won this before they even shot a single frame when they made the smart decision to bring back the writer / directing team of the Russo brothers / Markus / McFeely from CA: Winter Soldier. The tone, look, feel of that previous film (which along with IM1 / IM3 were the best MCU films to date) seamlessly continues over to this film and then they take it to another level.

2) With so many new characters to bring into the fold, I was worried that something would get missed. Don't worry. Spidey was freaking AMAZING!!! One of the real highlights of the film -- I am pumped to see the upcoming film. He knocks the role of Peter Parker out of the ballpark -- best version of the role to date. Black Panther? Another amazing casting and performance. The interplay of Falcon, Ant-Man, Black Widow were also well done. On the short end of the editing room were Hawkeye, Vision (more on that later).

3) The action sequences are incredible. I don't want to delve too deeply into this, but there are a lot of wow moments. Spidey mixing up, Black Panther throwing down... it was awesome.

4) Despite all of the eye candy, this film is at its core about extremely relatable human values: friendship (Steve / Bucky, Tony / Rhodey, Steve / Tony, Natasha / Clint, Natasha / Steve, Steve / Sam), family (Tony / Father, T'Challa / Father) and loyalty (to friends, to country, to duty). The film does a sublime job weaving all of those complex issues and ends up creating a rich cinematic tapestry that is Marvel's most thoughtful and mature film to date.

Highlights: Major Spoilers Ahead!!!

- Spidey. I am so happy they did this right. The action sequences, the suit, the snarky comments while he is mixing it up -- Tom Holland does an amazing job. I can't wait for the coming Spidey flick.

- Black Panther. Another home run. The demeanor, the physical skill, the mystery. All good. The film sets up a very intriguing segue to his upcoming involvement in the MCU. Can't wait for more.

- Agent 13 / Sharon Carter's reveal that she is Peggy's niece was well done. Her inspirational eulogy at Peggy's funeral incorporating Cap's iconic "No, you move" line was not only a nice nod, it added weight and affirmation to Steve's decision to stand firm and stick to his guns. It was actually more powerful for Steve to hear it rather than him delivering it, very emotional scene.

- Ant-Man. So great to see him show up and add the right balance of comedic elements. Giant-Man was sweet!

- Vision / Scarlet Witch. I love the fact they are setting the groundwork for closer interaction between these two and the foreshadowing of the Mind Gem / Infinity War was nice.

- Tony and Steve. Man, I went into the film thinking the one problem might be that each side was going to take their positions too rigidly, but the film does a great job exploring the hard choices that need to be made -- the conflict that weighs on their minds and the consequences of those actions. It lays down both arguments fairly and I saw the merits of both sides. In the end, the message is clear: some things are worth fighting for be it friends, family, loyalty -- not a bad message huh? Well done.

Cons:

- Hawkeye. Not that he was bad, in fact he was great and Renner is one of my favs -- just that he didn't get enough screentime (as usual). I know they had to juggle so many storylines that some things had to suffer, but still it kind of a shame that he always gets the short end of the arrows.

- Winter Soldier. I love the character, and he was fantastic in it. Action sequences were superb. The issue I had with this part of the storyline is that Cap goes out on such a limb -- multiple times for Bucky -- that at some point, Bucky probably should have sacrificed himself knowing how much collateral damage is being created. He kind of ends up doing this in the end, but by that time the damage is effectively done. I guess this is the counterweight plot point which forces Cap to take his stand (friendship, loyalty) but still it did make me question if he was really worth it all, and moreover if Bucky was too selfish in that regard.

- The Villians. Crossbones (very short screen time) and Zemo. This if anything was the weakest parts of the film (and is a criticism that can fairly be made across most Superhero films and MCU films in particular). It's hard to compete with the larger than life personalities from the Avengers side I suppose, but nonetheless, could have been better fleshed out and executed.

So that's it. I will probably have more takeaways / observations upon a 2nd viewing, but the conclusion is clear. This is a runaway hit. One of the best films I have seen in a long time. A feast for both the senses and for thought -- a hard trick to pull off. I entered the theater hungry, and left the theater full and yet wanting seconds. Bravo.

Tibor took seat in the Control Pod, there were a few different methods of operating a Proxy but the direct interface method was definitely his prefered way, using two food pedals and two joysticks to operate the proxy's arms and legs was not something every proxy pilot could get used to. As always I highly recommend everybody to check out Immediate~C for the original P_R_O_X_Y series, this one is a two parter with the second half being uploaded tomorrow and serves as a quick bridge between the next big scene/moc which is nearly finished and will probably go up the day after tomorrow (well either sat or sun) yay. I've had a lot of fun with these.

Edit* observant people may notice I retconned Tibors face just so I could use this (I believe Iron Man?) face instead... going forward I will stick with this face-hair combo if Tibor himself ever gets anymore screentime, who knows.
