Is it ever safe to venture out alone at Halloween? That's how all the horror movies start....

The southern screamer is one of the largest birds of southern South America at 33 to 35 in long and weighing about 4.4 kg (9.7 lb). Pairs bond for life and raise young in the same location over multiple years. Like geese, the feed on aquatic vegetation. great fliers and swimmers they do spend much of the time foraging in shallow ponds.
In flight you can see the sharp wing spurs used to defend, similar to lapwings and plovers to whom they are not related (convergent evolution).

The Grove of Titans, a new park development along the Howland Hill Rd. just down from the Stout Grove, is spectacular. A 1500' metallic-mesh walkway works off the Mill Creek Trail and takes you around the redwood grove, sparing the root systems of these titans from the daily stress of hikers. This conservation measure is extraordinary in both concept and form. The Screaming Titans depicts a 30' wide double-trunk tree, seen on the left. While I wish I'd shown that more clearly, I chose this angle for the scale provided by the two hikers. Don't miss a visit here if your travels take you up the northern section of the Redwood National and State Parks.
Thanks be to Jordan McGee, Susanne Schwartz and NASA via Unsplash for their contributions to this vizion. And not forgetting aka Tman for two selfies via iPhone 11 Pro.
Alien Sky, Juxtaposer and Snapseed were involved too.

CP train 411 screams uphill at Levack with 5745, 5572 and 5553 running full out on the morning of June 13, 1993. At the time I was hunting BIGS and they were few and far between especially as leaders on the Northern Ontario main. In retrospect the common as black flies at the time big SD's were dammed awesome in there own right even though I didn't appreciate them as much as I should have.
The Scream by Edvard Munch. The 1895 pastel-on-board version of the painting was sold at Sotheby's for a record US$120 million at auction on 2 May 2012.
Putting it through the shredder amused me. Best painting ever for putting through a shredder.
The black crested mangabey (Lophocebus aterrimus) is a species of primate in the family Cercopithecidae. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
So heres the full story: The day prior to this, ZMQG4s lead ace (seen 3rd out) suffered an engine block failure and was shut down indefinitely. Rather than run the BN ace around, they parked it in nowhere southern Illinois. Now a day behind schedule, IG4SI was supposed to drop a CSX unit to rescue IG4SI, and clearly that didnt happen. So an extra board crew out of Dupo had to drive up to Bloomington, steal their local power, and bring the now 2 days late stack, into G4... running under IDUG4X-20.
Props to the based crew that chatted with us while they were parked south of Gardner later that evening.
Anyways, heres the rescued stack screaming through Odell in notch 8.
I know it's just a case of pareidolia, but I can see the profile of a screaming face on that rock in the foreground at Ponta da Ferraria (I've marked it with a note for those of you who are seeing this on your computers). I think it goes great with the theme of the raging see going on in the background, don't you? :P
i think it's pretty self-explanatory that this picture represents how someone can seem alright on the exterior, but on the inside, they're screaming, feeling trapped.

My first droste with the 5Dmkii, and my first droste using my slightly reworked version of the SubBlue PixelBender filter. The filter needs some tweaking, it is mishandling some of the transparent pixels.
I know this is a repeat of one of my old popular images, but I always wanted to do it over without the HDR. I'm not sure this is the final redo either. ;)
By the way, I did not do any touching up on my choppers. When I posted the first version of the Eternal Scream in 2006 I got so many negative comments about my teeth that I eventually went and got them whitened. Then last night I made sure to brush twice and floss before the shoot. I don't have great teeth to begin with, but at least they are a little better now. :)
