A quartet of EMD's struggle to keep up pace as they climb a heavy train of Sudbury tonnage out of the dip from Victoria Park, you should have heard this guy screaming!
I took this photo in May, while I was on my way to the store. The pandemic was starting to become the way of life and I decided to use the free time I had to reignite my love for photography. A week after that decision, my camera broke down. Then I took on sewing, so that I could have a new hobby, and as many masks as I wanted. This failure on my face is the first one I made, out of a T-Shirt and elastics from my old gym pants. It is too big, the stitches are uneven and the elastics is too tight, but I ended up sticking with the hobby and getting better. With all that has happened this year, both on personal and global level, it is nice to have something relaxing to do.
Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face
And stars fill my dream
I'm a traveler of both time and space
To be where I have been

Photographed against some harsh light a Southern Screamer is seen here in the Buenos Aires reserve of Costanera Sur. This parkland was once wasteland but since the 1980's it has been managed as an ecological reserve.
For many years the nesting pair was viewable from the ridge road producing many amazing opportunities... in 2023 a storm toppled the tree and the nest (which by then was 10 feet high and as heavy as a small car). the new nest is not as conveniently located... There is a chick in this image.

Seeing faces in everyday things!
This is a small concrete thing used on building sites, it does have an interesting image screaming out to me to, " use it! "

A young girl was just a little surprised, after getting shot sticking her head out of a passing Limo in Piccadilly, giving me her best Munch Scream or Eisenstein Nanny, or Bacon Pope.....take your pick ;) (no lasting damage I am sure :)
The southern screamer is one of the largest birds of southern South America at 33 to 35 in long and weighing about 4.4 kg (9.7 lb). Pairs bond for life and raise young in the same location over multiple years. Like geese, the feed on aquatic vegetation. great fliers and swimmers they do spend much of the time foraging in shallow ponds.
In flight you can see the sharp wing spurs used to defend, similar to lapwings and plovers to whom they are not related (convergent evolution).

The Grove of Titans, a new park development along the Howland Hill Rd. just down from the Stout Grove, is spectacular. A 1500' metallic-mesh walkway works off the Mill Creek Trail and takes you around the redwood grove, sparing the root systems of these titans from the daily stress of hikers. This conservation measure is extraordinary in both concept and form. The Screaming Titans depicts a 30' wide double-trunk tree, seen on the left. While I wish I'd shown that more clearly, I chose this angle for the scale provided by the two hikers. Don't miss a visit here if your travels take you up the northern section of the Redwood National and State Parks.
I loved the way this Ice formation appeared to be SCREAMING...like it is SCREAMING this is too cold. This morning was at -10 degrees when we woke up. YES that is VERY cold
