Scooted out of the house early this morning for a visit to the beach. I tend to stay out of the sun these days on the advice of my Doc, but I do enjoy coffee at a beachside café now and then. Downed the coffee and grabbed a pic of the San Clemente pier, then escaped before the tourists arrived. It was a fine morning indeed 😀

Did you know I am one of a triplet, darling? No? I’m sure I mentioned it at some time! You probably forgot (especially when I talked about Emma. She’s a bore!). I’m the youngest of them all (of course). Oldest is sweet Esther, and the in-between is Emma, who is Wilmur’s mother. When Wilmur was young she went away on a *REDACTED* to far away *REDACTED* to *REDACTED* a *REDACTED*. Doesn’t that sound exciting? But she never came home. We thought we’d never see her again!
Well, the other day, it finally happened! Esther was vacuuming, as per usual on a Friday night, when the doorbell rang. She opened it and there she was, Emma in the flesh! Esther told me, “You could have knocked me over with a hummingbird feather!”
Wilmur is off in some forest hunting rare mushrooms, so that reunion has not happened yet. What do you think will happen, darlings?
A westbound Washington Eastern scoot, Washington state's term for a grain train ferrying wheat between smaller grain elevators and larger shuttle facilities, rolls west on Northern Pacific's former CW Branch near Reardan, Washington. Talk about a change of scenery.
A flock of western sandpipers at the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve in California. Likely a flock heading north to their breeding ground in Alaska.

There I was, hanging out at the airport, messing around with my camera, took this shot as the Scoot plane came by. Too good to delete, so here it is.
Black-fronted Dotterel (Elseyornis melanops)
Always lovely to see the Dotterels scooting around looking for food along Skeleton Creek. The Creek was low so they were some distance away from me.
Well, caught this Coot scooting across the lake with someone's chick in it's mouth after pinching it from a nest. This picture was taken at Upton Warren nature Reserve in the West Midlands
A man on his scooter has a friendly encounter with his buddy. I like his expression of surprise and the wet scooter trails left on the pavement behind him.

On her way to catch the sunset at the lighthouse, a woman cruises along the catwalk of Grand Haven South Pier in Michigan. Thanks for viewing! Chase the light, feel the breeze and embrace the joy of the journey as you scoot through the remainder of the week :)
