“Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Never make a negative decision in the low time. Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come.” — Robert H. Schuller

†
If there is a jazz sky, this has since February 6, 2019 a special new member. - The German bar owner and concert organizer Norbert Bolz, known to many as "Bolle", died after a long illness.
Bolle's "Baßgeige" has offered - both the national and the international scene between jazz and blues - since November 23, 1977 a small intimate stage for an interested audience.
With his initiative, he has enriched the cultural face of his hometown Braunschweig for more than 40 years.
Rest in peace, Nobert!

"The Storyteller" (Hermann Martlreiter-sax, Omar Kabir-trumpet, Ed Schuller-bass, John Betch-drums) played a fabulous concert "A Tribute to Paul Motian" on 27 October in the well known Jazz Pub "Baßgeige" (Germany / Braunschweig)

I was going for a different look with this but really liked the effect of this texture as it gives it a real painted feel.
It's really not much different to the original.

Unlike Zasada's Porsche, Herrmann's 911 sounded like it had lost a cylinder or two when it passed by on the Numeralla to Hindmarsh Station stage. It soldiered on to finish 15th and win the Best Private Entry award. The car was sold at the end of the event and, now restored, remains in Australia.

I really need to quit listening to that fear inside of me. I'm OBSESSED with the fear of dying. I think about it all the time at least every day. I am VERY afraid to die. I don't want to die. I want to live forever. I'm afraid of dying and being nothing. I'm afraid of it being painful. I'm afraid of it just being blackness. I'm afraid of a lot of things. I really want to live to be at least 90. AT LEAST. I'm dead serious.
I am so obsessed with the fear of death it gives me knots in my stomach. I know I shouldn't think about it all the time and I know it's inevitable and it will happen. Everyone goes. But just thought of it gives me the heebie jeebies.
I'm such a damn morbid person. Heh, Maybe I should go talk to a shrink so I don't obsess over it all the time. I don't know.

Circa 1964. In the early days of the Robert Schuller televangelist ministry Rev. Schuller preached in a rented drive-in theater. Later he was able to build this church but remembered his roots. In addition to inside seating there were about a hundred or so parking stalls with speakers so people could attend church without leaving the comfort of their cars.
Over the years Schuller's "Hour of Power" ministry grew with live TV from this venue and later the now world famous Crystal Cathedral complex. This church still stands as part of the complex in Garden Grove.

Hard to know what to think about this. It's arresting. We couldn't go inside - the local Catholic diocese has purchased it and is renovating it.

We spent Canada Day at Martinique Beach supposedly looking for Sandpipers and other sea birds. Not me seen these beauties growing in a wet marshy area so spent an hour crawling around getting some shots of them. I am unsure if they are wild Iris or som type of wild Orchid but they are definitely growing wild.
