Project: The Gallery Walk

Group Members: Chris Enck, Tom Dippolito, Naiqiang Lin, Nick Traini

The Gallery Walk is a web service that allows the owners of art galleries to easily provide information about their business. Our service gives their customers an outlet to browse and view their works online. With our service, any art gallery owner can register for an account and begin uploading their favorite selections of artwork to share with everyone. The Gallery Walk evens the playing field for small art galleries that could not afford an online presence on their own, in comparison with larger, more well-known art galleries. By having an online presence, smaller galleries can now gain far more popularity and business than they could previously. Gallery owners can also benefit from our service for art events. By keeping images of all their artwork online, they can advertise their entire gallery at events that they would otherwise be forced to show only a specific selection of works.

Southampton V Everton 20th of December 2014. A number of Saints players injured or suspended but an easy 3-0 win over a poor looking Everton on the day. Enjoyable game to watch with some good football from both sides

Project: The Magnus Effect Drone*

Group: Daniel Hubbard

A Magnus effect drone will be able to mimic the capabilities of a fixed-wing drone but with a smaller overall size and more lift at low speeds. This technology would provide hobbyists with a drone whose capabilities are between those of a fixed-wing craft and a multirotor. While there are a large variety of drones currently on the market, there are no commercially available drones employing the Magnus effect.

Project: Remote Mechanized Harness Release*

Group: Juan Aguirre, Mark Brazee, Alessandro DeBernardo, Edgar Makimoto

A model for TE Connectivity is needed to demonstrate remote accessibility of a mechanized harness release to clients. The Harness Release Mechanism will be driven by a linear actuator, requiring redesign of the housing and harness release mechanism. A Raspberry Pi connected through Wi-fi will link the two actuators to a mobile device to remotely activate the individual harness release mechanisms. A portable case was designed to hold two multi harness release mechanisms incorporating the Raspberry Pi and a rechargeable battery supply.
