Originally built as the Operating Pavilion in 1909, there were many subsequent additions that turned the wing into a ramble of rooms, centering around a large, glass-roofed operating space. The last surgery occurred in the space in 1953, when the larger Bryan Center was built, which housed several levels of operating spaces. The space was then used as storage for medical supplies before being renovated as home to the school's art department in the 1980s.

Three times the size and ten times as utilitarian, this building is now 50 years old. It has open wireless networks, beautiful labs, and pretty good computer equipment.
