A new naval base at Rosyth was proposed in 1903 and in 1908 The Scotsman published a letter from Thomas Adams, of the Garden City Association, arguing this was an opportunity for a new town to be planned on Garden City principles at Rosyth (15 April 1908).
After some delay, there was a meeting of minds between the Admiralty, the Local Government Board and local politicians; provisions in the 1909 Town Planning Act were ‘adapted to Scottish requirements’ (The Scotsman 6 June 1914). Dunfermline Town Council approved the Rosyth town planning scheme in July 1915. The Scottish National Housing Company was set up to provide houses for employees at Rosyth naval dockyard; 50,000 £1 shares were taken by the town council with the Public Works Loan Board lending the money at 4 per cent interest over 60 years (The Scotsman 31 July 1915).
Raymond Unwin was expert advisor to the Admiralty in connection with the Rosyth scheme. Alfred Hugh Mottram, as architect for the Scottish National Housing Company, worked on the layout and designed over 1500 houses. Ecovolis program has proven successful in dramatically increasing bicycle use in Tirana, which, formerly, was a city without a developed bicycle culture. Ecovolis program is the first project in Albania that provides low-income adults with commuter bicycles as well as a donating program for children bicycles. The program recently completed two major steps, opening new bike stations in the city of Durrës and integrating Tourist Information Point Service to the bicycles stations' structure.
History
The Tirana Community Bicycle Albania project won financial support from the George Soros Open Society Foundation Albania (OSFA). An even larger contribution came from the US-based Pedal for Progress organization, which donated 450 bicycles. Sixty of these were used road bikes, which were modified and painted by local technicians to serve as public bikes in the Ecovolis scheme. Another portion was set aside to donate to children and to activists and volunteers at PASS. Still another portion were diverted to the project's Eco Bicycle Shop, a social enterprise which sells bikes for USD 50-150 and reinvests profits for the service and maintenance of Ecovolis bicycles. The main objective of the program was to introduce the community to an inexpensive, environmental friendly form of transport -- the bicycle; to sell used bikes at low prices; to donate bikes to the children of needy families and to PASS volunteers; to establish a bike sharing-scheme in the city (Ecovolis); and to employ financially disadvantaged people and young students to operate the bike-sharing scheme.

Victoria, London Oct 21, 2012 England. Day one of our stay in London.. Wish I could have had more as this is where I lived for sixteen years. The weather was overcast and just about raining.. but it wasn't cold!
Westminster Cathedral in London is the mother church of the Catholic Church in England and Wales.
The site on which the Cathedral stands in the City of Westminster was purchased by the Archdiocese of Westminster in 1885. Westminster Cathedral is the largest Catholic church in England and Wales and the seat of the Archbishop of Westminster.
John Betjeman called it "a masterpiece in striped brick and stone in an intricate pattern of bonding, the domes being all-brick in order to prove that the good craftsman has no need of steel or concrete."
The whole building, in the neo-Byzantine style, covers an area of about 5 017 m2 (54000 sqft); the dominating factor of the scheme, apart from the campanile, being a spacious and uninterrupted nave, 18 m (60 ft), covered with domical vaulting.
The mosaics installed during the period 1912–1916 were mostly done by devotees of the Arts and Crafts Movement.

After wanting to return since my first visit (when Doug & I didn't make it to the summit due to lack of time), I finally made it back 18 months later.
Emeishan is one of the four most important Buddhist mountains in China. Jinding is the highest point at Emeishan at around 3,000 meters (over 10,000 feet) in elevation.
Atop Jinding are the Golden Temple, Silver Temple, and Samantabhadra (Ten-Faced Buddha statue), along with views of nearby Wanfo Summit and Wanfo Pagoda. The area is also called the "Sea of Clouds" because, a good deal of the time, the cloud cover is actually below the peaks. This would be an ideal place to be for sunrise or sunset.
This particular trip happened to be on a national holiday, so it was a little crowded, but not too bad. As it was early April, there were still traces of snow to be found at the upper elevations. The lower elevations were showing spring greens.
The pictures in this particular series are exclusively of the peak, though. I wouldn't consider these to be perfect conditions for shooting the Sea of Clouds, though some of these turned out fairly well.
Additionally, the Golden Temple was quite photogenic.
The only downsideto Emeishan is, like almost all national parks in China, the entrance fee is a bit steeper than I'm used to. (To get to the summit, you have to pay a 185 RMB admission fee, a 90 RMB round-trip bus ticket -- recommended, as it's 50 km & 2 hours from base to peak, and then a 120 RMB round-trip cable car...for which the wait was over an hour.) All told, it came to over $60 USD just to get to the peak. That being said, the views are wonderful up there.

Young people from Include Youth’s Give and Take Scheme in Belfast and the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust’s Employability Service, a partnership between Include Youth and Opportunity Youth, proved quite the bright sparks in the Black Box Belfast today.
Between them the young people achieved more 150 accredited qualifications in the last year.
Following the certificate presentations young people had the opportunity to get their hair and nails done thanks to the support of Vogue hairdressing, as well as speak with staff from FASA, Diabetes UK, Action Cancer and Lighthouse about help and services available to them in their area.
A massive well done to all the young people, staff and carers and thank you to BHSCT for their commitment to support young people leaving care who need education, employment and training.

Just above the fallen yellow leaf were a whole series of the same type of leaf. These came in a wide variety of colours though.

The material includes painting, study sketches for stage designs for opera and ballet, theatre costume drawings, studies for decorative schemes for public spaces, applied art, design, illustrations and film. The exhibitionl considers Grünewald’s strong standing in Swedish cultural life against the background of societal changes of the early and mid-twentieth century, and in relation to his social contacts and networks in Sweden and internationally. An extensive and richly illustrated catalogue accompanies the exhibition, with essays written by a range of eminent researchers in the fields of art and theatre.

A visit to the beautiful park and garden at Waldemarsudde is a treat for many senses and offers more than a century old garden history. The design of the garden determined by Prince Eugen, is still managed according to the Prince’s instructions and directions. The park is also rich in sculptures, all of them bought by Prince Eugen, often with specific sites in mind.
Prince Eugen was an art collector of note, with special emphasis on Nordic and French art. The Collections number around 7,000 works and comprise painting, sculpture and crafts objects. The Painting Collection includes works by Ernst Josephson, Anders Zorn, Julia Beck, Isaac Grünewald, Sigrid Hjertén and Sven X:et Erixson. International artists such as Edvard Munch and Auguste Rodin are also represented. Throughout the year, a selection of Prince Eugen’s own art and works from the Collections, are on display.

Prince Eugen's Waldemarsudde (Swedish for Cape Waldemar), is a museum located on Djurgården in central Stockholm. The name is composed of Waldemar, an Old German noble male name, and udde, meaning cape. It is derived from a historical name of the island Djurgården, Valmundsö.
It was the former home of the Swedish Prince Eugen, who discovered the place in 1892, when he rented a house there for a few days. Seven years later he bought the premises and had a new house designed by the architect Ferdinand Boberg, who also designed Rosenbad (the Prime Minister's Office and the Government Chancellery), and erected 1903–1904.
Prince Eugen had been educated as a painter in Paris and after his death the house was converted to a museum of his own and others paintings. The prince died in 1947 and is buried by the beach close to the house.
The complex consists of a castle-like main building—the Mansion—completed in 1905, and the Gallery Building, added in 1913. The estate also includes the original manor-house building, known as the Old House and an old linseed mill, both dating back to the 1780s. The estate is set in parkland which features centuries-old oak trees and reflects the prince's interest for gardening and flower arrangement. The Art Nouveau interior, including the cocklestoves, by Boberg are designed in a Gustavian style and makes good use of both the panoramic view of the inlet to Stockholm and the light resulting from the elevated location of the building.
