Gustavo de Mello Nunes (1982 – )
Faz parte da nova geração de artistas catarinenses, desenvolvendo um variado corpo de trabalho em seu ateliê, explorando diferentes temáticas e técnicas artísticas.
Natural de Florianópolis, sua educação artística ocorreu em ateliês particulares, na Itália e em sua cidade natal.
Sua formação sempre foi orientada através da relação mestre-aluno, com forte interesse na prática da pintura. Para tanto, viveu durante oito anos ininterruptos com um dos mestres da pintura catarinense, o pintor e professor Silvio Pléticos, em total imersão artística .
Na Itália, a orientação veio através do seu irmão, Rodrigo de Oliveira Nunes, professor formado pela Academia de Belas Artes de Florença.
Ambos os professores, com formações e características distintas, forneceram uma sólida base para o seu desenvolvimento como pintor.
Suas obras fazem parte de coleções privadas em Santa Catarina, São Paulo, Inglaterra, Itália e Estados Unidos.

Lagunas Escondidas de Baltinache (Baltinache Hidden Lagoons) is a series of salt flats located on the Atacama Desert. The concentration of salt in the water is actually higher than in the Dead Sea. It is (unfortunately) allowed to bathe in two of the lagoons.

Malga Kubiak nazywa „Mask of Beauty on Yukio Mishima” „trash kabuki”, ale to wciąż za mało, by określić specyfikę tego filmu. Destrukcja nie dotyczy tu tyle pewnej estetyki, ile wyobraźni samej reżyserki. Fascynacja prozą Mishimy, obrazy literackie i erotyczne fantazmaty z jego powieści, stały się ekranem, przez który Kubiak patrzy na świat i które chciałaby nadać zarówno rzeczywistości, jak i tworzonemu przez siebie filmowi – różnica między nimi nie jest znacząca. Coś jednak stawia opór uruchomionej przez tekst wyobraźni; coś, co sprawia, że literatura włączona w życie zwykłych aktorów i bylejakość codzienności, pokazuje swoje niedostatki, lecz pozostaje nieodzowna. Tkanina tekstu staje się przetartą, przybrudzoną szmatką, która ledwo wytrzymuje napór życia; jest jednak jedynym materiałem, na którym to życie, zwłaszcza w jego najbardziej nieuprawnionych przejawach, daje się wyświetlić. Film łączy te strzępy w cienkich szwach i brzydkich bliznach tak, że stają się spójne do granic wytrzymałości.

Koffe - What importance do you think that personal creativity has?
Malga/personal creativity is a sign of life in me.
Koffe - What reasons exist to take the necessary time it often takes to be creative?
Malga/it often takes a hell of time, as now, i fall in love to Yukio Mishima, read all i could, developed to gigantic script, and shot 100 hours on video, sometimes on 2 cameras. all in all 100h. i need a beat more to cover the script. of course i know it is too much material but its nothing to do. instead of 1h30 min hit i will have 4 parts of massive trash total kubiak kabuki, possibly hard to melt. it started in april 2008, reading a nd shooting quite quickly in july 08, planed for march 2009 but i could not wait. watching now is hard, all is shit hard as most of my time goes to my mom who is full time crippled. just impossible situation, i am jealous at old chaps like Fellini, Bergman, Scorsese, and all great sharks, what did they do with old moms? lately, i practically watch to 4 am, each night make small sketch notes and so most do in my head. we are filming often, it needs actors, cameramen or women, selenography, costumes, wigs, texts, food, requisites, weather,
landscape, space, i live in 1 room with my mom but found all around, she is joying the venues, all is done in Alby as she cant be moved. i found Alby mountain, lake and rocks, and cellars very Japanese indeed. we have a train compartment build in her cupboard and such. her room is cover with several walls paper walls, to do different rooms for the movie, bathroom is made to temple, you could also talk with Mats Lundell, and Michal Piotrowski, actor, but i know u dont ask me abut my film, only about inner or outer reasons, i forgot to mention we have no budget, but it works. it always worked for me, its may be devastating, and not moral to say to other artists but really i do work with the minimum of money, pocket money, and i dont care to be ever paid. its possibly strange, i may be nuts. and of course i want to be watched, recognized as filmmaker, and its not as much my vanity as i simply do the job and i produce the movie and after people must see it. simple as that.
Koffe - Is it more important for some people to be creative than it is for others? Does the "creative genius” exist?
Malga/ i dont know, possibly yes.
Koffe - Do you personally have any experience (for reasons like creative block, bad self-confidence or being lethargic) of suffering longer periods without getting things done?
Malga/ yes i know this, i am not a workaholic, i spent lots of time in the ditch, drinking, or hang over, or any others down, yet i do not cry and do not take Prozac or any others, but i am not happy, i am not in love, i am single, to the verge of my existence. and lonely too. it sucks. yet i love to create, and i must create and i want to create and i can create and i do create.
Koffe - What significance does skill of craftsmanship have, when you are expressing yourself culturally/artistically? Is it possible to be "good" without being skilled?
Malga/ if without being skilled u mean lack of education, it is possible to be a wonder child, yet its not so with me, i simply started in the cradlle, perents artists, and at home with poetry, opera, theater, since birth, and going through few art schools, yet no diploma, never completed any education and never stopped to educate myself. one must be like a swamp, take all in.
Koffe - How should a person, who has never seen her-/himself as a creative individual (but knows that she/he would feel good about it), go about getting the necessary “keys” to becoming productive?
Malga/ this is not a good question, not as i see it, u mean like a dreamer, or. well, i try, freedom is a total key, u must be free to open the doors, freedom is more essential to me then a keys. i dont really believe in keys. may be a kiss, kiss of wisdom, kiss of death, kiss of ecstasy... besides to express yourself u must be sure of it, u must feel at least some of it, u cant just preplan, really or hope to be wealthy, famous and so on, thats crap.
Koffe - Can you, in a few sentences, summarize how to actually manage putting your ideas into practice?
Malga/ i think i already did as i feel as i talked to much , as u didn't really ask this personal doings only the idea of rising. ha ha ha, this was almost a beat generation. ha ha ha. OK, i can try on this particular case as my Mishima movie. why i fall in love with his life, writings, thoughts, world, is perhaps because of
the hole in me, of what i search, what i ache for and of, what i want, what i dream and most what i love and how i love. yes its all about love, simple as that.
after i was cough, every book of him is a miracle. and i read and note what i feel i want to bring out, or what must be brought out. and then is only to shoot. of course before i shoot i must do a lot of organizing, within. details, smallest details, both in my head and on paper, i mean in comp. and then its only to drive! and while u drive u must be fucking strong, fucking decisive, fucking possessed, fucking sure, fucking holly, fucking powerful otherwise there is no movie happening. OK, sorry if u think i see myself a fucking god, but i dont. i do not believe in god. and movie is not a small potato, its a giant job!

Tutti amano la sua spensieratezza e il suo modo di essere, un pò bambina ma allo stesso tempo un pò adulta. Lei è così, lei è da capire, ma fidatevi che una volta capita non riuscirete più a stare senza di lei e la sua risata contagiosa. Avete presente quelle giornate buie,grigie in cui tutto fa schifo e di alzarvi dal letto per andare a scuola sarebbe l'ultima cosa che vorreste fare a questo mondo? Ecco lei in quei giorni è essenziale per migliorarti la giornata, ha la capacità di farti ridere anche mentre piangi ed è un pregio che non tutti hanno. é a dir poco cocciuta, ti chiede consigli almeno trenta volte al giorno ma fa sempre e comunque di testa sua,a volte sbaglia a volte fa bene, ma è giusto così,sa di avere la testa e sa come usarla,è estremamente orgogliosa e anche un tantino ansiosa per le situazioni che gli stanno più a cuore. Non si rende conto di quanto sia bella sia dentro che fuori così com'è con pregi e difetti; la definirei un'amica pazza con cui puoi essere te stessa al cento per cento senza preoccuparti di come ti stanno i capelli o come ti sta il vestito, potresti andare a casa sua in accappatoio che per lei sei sempre bellissima.
