I came home one day to an actual crime scene outside the building where I live. I was told he was a motorcycle-riding thief who was under police surveillance. He got cornered in front of this corner, and then got shot in the head when he refused to step away from the vehicle. After I took the photo of his blood pool I told the building security personnel to light a candle in this spot.
These photos are of portions of the West Campus of the University of the Witwatersrand, where I lecture and tutor a couple times a week.
Same shot as the previous one, I just thought the crop gave it a completely different feel. From the set of Henry (2009).

Our writing program is in full swing! Students focused on setting and character development this week by creating written works through their observations of scenes around the Home. The results varied from poetry, mystery, to rap lyrics! #EDUatABDHS

This photo of a tree on campus show an extremely shallow depth of field. The amount of light reflection of the snow allowed of a very high shutter speed. Space in this photo in very affective. The buildings in the background even though out of focus really strengthens the photo. There is also great contrast between all the diffused colors of the background and the crime scene tape.
