lol, a movie scene I recreate using 2 of my frame builds. Can you name what movie it's from? Here's a hint:

White Frame- "Victory is mine!"

Black Frame- "Tis but a scratch."

White- "A 'SCRATCH'?!? You're arm's off!"

Black- "No it isn't."

White- "Well, what do you call THAT?"

Black- "........... I've had worse."

These attracted the attention of Watanabe, who engaged him from 1918. The series containing "Twelve Scenes in Tokyo" was published between 1919 and 1921, based on sketches Hasui made on the outskirts of the city. Hasui depicts Tokyo with a romantic gaze. He portrays the growing city as a typical Japanese village, rather than the modern metropolis the city was gradually becoming.

The Bingham Canyon area was the scene of labor agitation and organizing against dangerous working conditions in the early 20th century. Joe Hill, a Swedish immigrant immortalized in the labor movement song, worked in copper mines in the area. www.opensubscriber.com/message/laamn@yahoogroups.com/1345...

I continue to review older, unpublished photos and reconsider some of them for the series. This portrait earns a place after I played around with several cropped compositions. Nickname: Leery.

I don’t even recall taking this one but see why the rejection. Nearly four years later (posting on April 7, 2021), subtle improvements in my craft and adapted attitudes about what makes an acceptable portrait lead me to look differently at the grey being partially obscured. The foliage, grass, and shadows are emotional elements—immediately transportive for anyone whose house and yard looked anything similar. Something else appealing: The scene doesn’t look, or feel, like San Diego—no cactus, palm trees, or succulents.

I don’t recall Leery’s location but my guess is somewhere along Cleveland Ave., where I captured a followup of Calico Mellow (www.flickr.com/photos/joewilcox/37975478175/) eight minutes later.

Ponce is on the other side of the island compared to San Juan. You have to wind through the green jungle to get through the island, where rain clouds and darker weather always seem to be present... yet they never make it to Ponce and the weather was just picture perfect the whole time.
