Just Checking. Ramo of Low Sonic Drift, during soundcheck.
Part of a series of a "behind the scenes" look at the events leading up to a gig in the 13th Note, Glasgow.
Strobists info: Shot with a Nikon SB-600 in my left hand high-ish and to the left. Used nikon CLS for TTL exposure and wireless-ising.
Day 56 - scene of crime. Some mindless hooligans set fire to the old chap's woodyard last night! Still, I expect they had a good excuse for it - perhaps their benefits don't stretch to buying wood for themselves .......... bastards!
Shooting under Gooner's shoulder.
Super dragged shutter... Framed my shot, closed the aperture way down, set shutter to bulb, hit the shutter and tried to hold still till Chris popped his shot.
I think it's a nice effect.
There's this nationwide community. It's called freecycle (freecycle.org) and the people within each locale give away items they don't need or want for free. No selling, no trading, no buying. It's reuse over refuse. The site isn't there for other people to make money off of another one's generosity; it is to benefit from another one's generosity. Keep things away from the landfill.
I can give away some books, video games, my old guitar, my Goo Goo Dolls posters. I can get a free board game, a free and inexpensive inkjet printer. I got wine glasses late last year. I'll be giving away a guitar.
And today, I drove across town and got a free game that I will be playing with everyone interested.

Scenes from Metamorphoses: A Play by Mary Zimmerman
An Eckerd College Theatre production, April 2019 in Bininger Theatre.
I saw this groovy guy on the crosswalk light and thought I would have some fun since I caught him in the act.
For as many years as I've been going to this event, they've had an old air mattress in the backyard that the kids jump on for hours. At some point, they will inevitably find a larger human, who will jump on one side of the mattress, sending the small child on the other side of the mattress flying through the air.
This will be done repeatedly until small child eventually lands painfully, and starts crying.
Amazing that this is done at an event populated with lawyers.

Focussed in on flowers in the foreground to throw the back ground out of focus. Personally find this shot to busy and
gaudy.

August 9, 2024 - Progress
"Generations of change in the blink of an eye.
Travel through time and interact with the technology from 1898. Then turn a corner and find yourself generations later - in 1962 - in that same town.
In just sixty-four years, telegraphs gave way to television, Morse code to telephones, farmer’s markets to TV dinners. Stand on the corner of Hope Street and Fear Street in Progress and wonder: what will the future bring?
Explore an American street
at two different times in history
Brick and wood give way to pavement and stainless steel, parking meters replace hitching posts, a livery stable vanishes and a gas station goes up in its place. How many examples of technological change can you discover in Progress?
See how innovation changed our lives
The march of technological innovation reshapes our lives, our cities, and our society. These changes may be difficult to detect from one day to the next. Yet in less than a century, they can make the familiar unrecognizable. Will diminishing supplies of fossil fuels make today’s gas stations seem as quaint as a nineteenth-century livery stable? Will you even recognize the Columbus of 2076?" Previous description: cosi.org/exhibits/classic-exhibits/progress
