I must apologize to all my Flickr buddies for being out of touch for a bit. The weather has been terribly cold, and making it very tough to get out and take pictures. Also, I've been feeling In a bit of a funk in general, and seeking inspiration. I'm sure many of you can relate to me when say that this can be the best way to work through troubling emotions.
This was taken out at the in-laws' farm near the end of January.
It's good to be back--I hope all of you are in good spirits and finding inspiration everywhere you look.

Six days ago I posted an nearly identical scene with the same name except that one was in b&w. Generally I prefer color but in this case I think I like the b&w image more. (DSC_8050.jpg)
The out of place fountain, the vehicles in random locations without any markings, the lady just walking past in the void, it all just has a certain I-don't-know-what to it.

A Sandhill Crane in His natural habitat. These marvelous birds are HUGE and beautiful!!

* Large, long-legged, long-necked bird
* Long, pointed bill
* Holds neck straight both at rest and in flight, not tucking it in like herons do
* Dark gray legs extended in flight
* Long, fluffy tertials droop down over tail and primaries
This is a scene from the movie "Blade Runner", that I've painted in acrylic for my son Andrew. I'm going to a fancy dress party on Saturday night in an old posh club downtown that might offer me some good photo ops to paint . I feel really inspired after doing this scene.
As I was capturing this image, I imaged the Star Ship Enterprise emerging from the cloud and hitting light speed into the heart of the Milky Way. Yeah, I'm a ScFi nerd.
However, this scene was created naturally by low clouds in the valley below Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park.
