Exacto, hoy mismo :)

Saúdos.

After three days/nights trekking we ascended the final summit before reaching our objective, the Kilometer 88 railway post, beyond the summit and to the south. By now we had climbed well above the tree line and had entered an alpine moorland of scrub brush and grassland. The altitude was approximately 4,200 meters--it was cold and the air was thin.

The Hyde Street Pier is an historic ferry pier located on the northern waterfront of San Francisco, California, amidst the tourist zone of Fisherman's Wharf.

Prior to the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge, it was the principal automobile ferry terminal connecting San Francisco with Marin County by way of Sausalito to the north, and the East Bay by way of Berkeley.

Today, the pier is part of the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. Various historical ships are anchored to the pier, some available for self-guided or docent-led tours. Among the ships on display or in storage are the Balclutha, an 1886 square rigged sailing ship, as well as C.A. Thayer, Eureka, Alma, Hercules, Eppleton Hall, and over one hundred smaller craft.

Amongst a mass of accommodations we chose the Bungalow Kubuku after an epic air journey from North America. I had visited 14 years prior when Kuta beach was a sleepy place with a handful of overland travelers. It had since transformed into a "Balinese theme park" overwhelmed by inebriated Australian party goers.

Near San Agustin, Colombia a pre Incan culture left many carved statues in and near their tombs and sacred places. Many of the statues depict a rather blood thirsty deity. An hour walk from town brings one to a site of excavated tombs and a display of statues and statuettes in a forest reserve trail.

After months of informal high altitude training in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, our party of three has paused at the 5,000 meter summit of the Olleros to Chavín Cordillera Blanca trail. We had struggled with heavy backpacks for three days, staying in primitive shepherd huts each night and still had a difficult full day's trek ahead of us in our descent to Chavín. The 10-second delay auto shot is faded and damaged by age and the elements, but still brings back the memory of this special moment in time, so long ago.

Mismo cruceiro, mismo dia, diferente perspectiva.
