Route 423 was invented when Heathrow terminal 5 was opened in 2008. It was a renumbering of route H23 with a re-routeing. Route H23 ran from Hounslow to Heathrow T4 and the cargo area. The 423 re-routed to travel around the east, north and west of Heathrow instead of the south to terminate at T5. The 482, also a new route, took over the south routing serving T4, the cargo area and T5.
It normally runs with E200 single decks but Scania double decks make appearances.

On a very wet Monday morning here's Scania 986 at Ocean Terminal and despite the rain the new paintwork manages to sparkle as though it were a sunny day.
In 2005 Scania announced the introduction of the OmniCity double decker in order to complement its OmniDekka citybus sold in the UK. It has a full low floor and is a complete Scania product. The early double-deck OmniCity use the N94UD chassis, the same as the OmniDekka. A demonstrator was delivered to Travel West Midlands (now National Express West Midlands) and entered service in November 2005. Lothian Buses initially ordered five which started operating during August–September 2006. A further ten were ordered and these buses entered service in late 2007, resulting in a total of fifteen, fleet numbers 985 to 999.

Route 700 was introduced by Southdown in 1975 replacing old route 31. They must have read the future as it was branded "The Stagecoach 700." The route number operates in three sections these days - Brighton to Littlehampton (or Arundal), Littlehampton to Chichester and Chichester to Portsmouth.
This bus is seen at the eastern end of the route and is an ADL Enviro 400 bodied Scania N230UD, the type preferred by Stagecoach in the last few years for longer interurban services.

First PMT Scania/Wright 871 (R871ERE) began life with PMT's "Crosville" operation at Chester on park & ride service. Still carrying Chester park & ride livery with red roof, though devoid of branding, 60105, as it became, is seen in PMT home land at Hanley. A replacement nearside headlamp surround from a "Barbie" liveried Scania had been acquired at the time I took this view in November 2003.
