This is the second print series I have created for PrintCollection.com. In general I’m more interested in bicycles than cars, but I do have a fondness for the design aesthetics of 1970’s cars. I divided the twenty into 5 Northern European, 5 Japanese, 5 English and 5 American. Should I ever want to expand the series I will move on to France and Italy. Available in a variety of sizes at www.montagueprojects.com/#/series-for-print-collection/

Scandinavian design of furniture and decorating are famous internationally for their modern, innovative and clean lined qualities. Typical to Scandinavian design is functionality and utility of the products.

The pattern on this plate is know as Bersa and was designed by Stig Lindberg for the Swedish company Gustavsberg. It was in production from 1960 to 1974 and was one of the most popular patterns of the time.

Stig Lindberg was a very influential Scandinavian Designer and his work has always been highly collectible and even more since his passing.

This plate is 9.5 inches across and very good, but not perfect condition. There are no major chips or cracks but there are three very small rough spots on the back about 2 mm wide. The pattern also has a few scratches.

The plate is marked on the back with the Lindberg/Gustavsberg mark.

Azmi and Bediz Koz founded Butik A in 1958 in Ankara. At the time, furniture design in Ankara was inspired by Scandinavian and especially Danish furniture. Adopting a similar approach, the Koz family began by copying products, they then went on to interpret these forms and created their own characteristic style. The company worked on several interiors and furniture pieces for members of the high society of Ankara, including the artist Ulvi Cemal Erkin. In the 1960s they founded MPD, which is still active today under the direction of Bediz Koz and is considered a milestone in the history of furniture design in Turkey.

Items of furniture by Butik A from the house of Ulvi Cemal Erkin were displayed in “Modern Essays 4: SALON” at SALT Galata, 2012. saltonline.org/en/277/

Primare I22 & CD22

I had this set-up from Primare coming in the other day for a test. This is quite good sound for the price, but I find the design and the quality of build quite outstanding. Scandinavian design at it's best.

(I had the bigger siblings in for photographing a while ago - they are even more awesome to look at!)
