Earlier we bought some nice pieces of crystal art from Kosta Boda:

“Fidji vase” by Kjell Engman.

"Beans" Blue Limited Edition by Bertil Vallien (Artist collection)

In addition a original "Dalapaard" to make it a Swedish art composition.

The Dala horse (Swedish: dalahäst) is a horse made of wood that is a symbol of the Dalarna landscape in Sweden, or nowadays by extension also of the whole of Sweden.

The wooden horses come in all sizes and are mostly made in Nusnäs, near Mora. Most horses are red and they are often painted by hand. The horses have been made since the 17th century. In Nusnäs there is a museum where, among other things, it is shown how the horses are made.

April, 28-2023 in EXPLORE !

Stepping into Stockholm this time with my lens after countless scenes from other corners of Sweden, I'm excited to finally bring you the vibrant pulse and modern edge of Södermalm. Bright skies, bold design, and city buzz. Stockholm, you're officially on the map.

Your visit means so much to me, each fave and comment keeps the spark shining bright. Sending a big heartfelt hug from Stockholm to you...

A lively midday scene from Linköping’s pedestrian street. The image captures a mix of modern and older buildings, each featuring characteristic awnings. Bright, reflective glass façades contrast with brick and concrete, while cyclists and pedestrians enjoy the autumn weather.

The best way to see a city is on two wheels and this street proved it. Loving the Scandinavian rhythm.

Earlier the month we added this nice piece to our Kosta Boda collection:

“Headman” by Bertil Vallien

Headman blue by Bertil Vallien, from Kosta Boda Artist Collection, is shaped in glass with silver leaf forming the face at the core of the object.

Headman is hand-made at Kosta Glassworks and mounted on an iron plinth.

Last march we added this nice piece to our Kosta Boda collection.

An air bubble captured in a egg. Looking into the crystal ball while lying on one's back.

Shaped by hand on the glassblower's pipe.

Face coated with genuine silver.

The Öresund Bridge stretches silently from Malmö towards Copenhagen in this ethereal long exposure lasting 663 seconds. The use of a strong ND filter turns both water and sky into soft veils, letting the bridge command the scene with geometric elegance.

Fun fact: The Öresund Bridge is both a bridge and a tunnel! It transitions into an underwater tunnel halfway across the strait. This engineering marvel is the longest combined road and rail bridge in Europe, spanning nearly 8 kilometers above the sea.

Oslo Opera House by night

Something simple and straightforward for a change ;-) Though I have a "what am I looking at?" version for the theme, too, which, again, I will probably upload later. This time I did not get that close,

because I wanted to have the "Organic" lettering in full, which is 6 cm (2,3622 inches) high. The width here is exactly 7 cm / 3 inches. It's a cotton tote bag, made from "organic cotton" (hopefully), by Swedish designer Gudrun Sjödén.

Thank you for your kind comments, I appreciate every single one, and your faves!

A stroll through the streets of Oslo is a great way to get to know Norway's capital. Oslo is a modern city, but it also preserves its history and culture.

This spectacular stone reminds me of a iceberg maybe far out in the Antarctic Ocean, sparkling white ice and so gorgeous view.

This is a stylish and small but still very original ring.

Perfect for you who like to wear jewelry that are unique and stand out but still keep the elegant look..

This image captures the quintessential charm of Nyhavn, Copenhagen's historic canal district.

This is a photo I took in July 2015 during the construction of the Iceberg Project in Aarhus. Since then, the Iceberg has become a landmark in the city’s revitalized harbor area. Its sharp, angular design, resembling floating icebergs, was crafted to maximize sunlight and views of the waterfront. Today, it's an iconic example of modern Danish architecture, blending striking visuals with functionality, and perfectly reflecting the maritime vibe of its surroundings - Aarhus, Denmark

There is a wonderful lamp that won a design competition in Denmark and a great placing at the Tivoli park. With the colors in the glass discs and the light distortion it makes, it could remind me of Dali's soft watches.... "The persistence of memory"

The interior, representative of Nordic Baroque aesthetics, features a wide nave with slender columns, ribbed vaults, and a checkered floor that guides the eye to the high altar, adorned with sculptures and a gilded altarpiece. The pulpit, decorated with gilded carvings, stands out alongside the brass chandeliers that illuminate the space. The atmosphere, characterized by sobriety and luminosity, reflects the principles of Protestantism, where preaching takes precedence. In addition to serving the Lutheran community, the church is a cultural and historical landmark in Copenhagen, known for its acoustics and cultural events.

We're in the middle of a scarey fire season this summer in the Sierra Nevada Mtns of California. It is just refreshing to remember last Christmas as it snowed for 4 days straight.

Located in the heart of Copenhagen, at the historic Grønnegade 27, stands a half-timbered building, testimony to the city's rich architectural heritage. This construction, with its distinctive exposed wooden structure filled with masonry, exemplifies a building technique common in Denmark and northern Europe from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. The colorful facade, symmetrical windows, and sloping roof are characteristic elements that lend charm and optimize natural light. The building's survival of the great fires that devastated Copenhagen underscores its resilience and historical importance. Currently integrated into the vibrant commercial life of Grønnegade, this example of half-timbered architecture represents a harmonious fusion of cultural heritage and contemporary functionality, preserving the identity and history of the Danish capital.

En este diminuto mundo mío

una habitación y una silla bastan.

Algunos recuerdos cuelgan de una alcayata;

Me siento a esperar y me pregunto

si ya habrán adelgazado las paredes

de tanto contemplarlas.

Beneath a shifting twilight sky, one of Equinor’s most iconic buildings rises like a futuristic sculpture above the Fornebu landscape. Captured in a 30-second long exposure, the structure seems to defy gravity — with cantilevered volumes stacked like a game of modernist Jenga.

Designed by a-lab architects, the building was completed in 2012 and quickly became a landmark in Norwegian architecture. With its five interlocking volumes — each 140 meters long — it was conceived to reflect both efficiency and openness.

A striking intersection of geometry, innovation and Nordic minimalism, this is architecture in motion, frozen in time.
