With measurements from a gram to 5 kilos, the scale still works well, although some of the weights are now used as door stops!

I didn't notice the large exit holes on both of these scale on Acacia melanoxylon, until I could see more clearly on the computer. I'm not really sure where these fit, so I'll stay safe with Coccoidea.
This was wrong...a white fly Pseudozaphanera wariensis, thanks to singhiella on iNaturalist.
LDD sketch of mini figure scale Scania T144 tow truck. Latlug member Rolands has created large scale version of this vehicle so here comes one in minifig scale made by Peteris from Latlug.
Cararama 1/72nd scale series 3 109 Land Rover recovery truck. The recovery gear was scratch-built from plastic micro-strip.
Before the introduction of calculators, we had to carry out mathematical calculations in long hand on paper, use log tables, or slide rules.
This picture shows two slide rules of different size, and a selection of scale rulers used by draughtsmen, the six inch rulers and slide rules with the names of engineering firms on them were often given away as presents at Christmas.
The twelve inch slide rule dates from the 50s and was used for many years in a government office.
Scale consumate ogni giorno,

come sassi di un fiume lavorati dal'usura delle acque e del tempo. Letto di un fiume fatto di persone che nel tempo ha levigato le pietre.

Park Hill, Sheffield, 1957-61.
By Ivor Smith & Jack Lynn under the auspices of John Lewis Womersley (1910-1989), chief architect for Sheffield City Council.
Flats and maisonettes for Sheffield Corporation.
Grade ll* listed.
Park Hill was the largest-scale application of the approach known as New Brutalism, characterised by an emphasis on massive scale, the use of unpainted concrete, and a concern for social cohesion in mass housing. By the 1990s its 985 flats and “streets in the sky” had become known as a failure. Like so many others, it was equated by many with ugliness, social decay, drug use and family breakdown. Its almost-certain demolition was avoided when English Heritage controversially placed a Grade II* listing on the entire estate in 1998. A long and tortuous process of regeneration began, led by developer Urban Splash, to whom the estate was transferred for free in 2004.
The renovations started with the tallest block of the estate: its 13-storey concrete frame restored and new apartments fronted by brightly coloured panels. It is Urban Splash’s plan to redevelop the entire estate, most of which still stands abandoned.
Originally there were 985 dwellings, 31 shops, 4 pubs, 13 eight-person lifts, 3 goods lifts, a police station, a laundry, a Garchey refuse station and garages. The Board School of 1875 was retained but later replaced.

You are invited to stay and browse through my stream. Here's a quick index to my little corner of Flickr:
Automobile Photographs: This is a very large collection of images whose primary, but not exclusive, focus is on American automotive classics. Images are organized by decade, by manufacturer, and by topics (such as convertibles, station wagons, muscle cars, etc.)
Central Illinois (except Springfield): Central Illinois (except Springfield): Photos relating to the middle section of the "Land of Lincoln" (except for the Capital City of Springfield) may be found in this collection. Every city and town I've photographed is contained within its own set, and rural (as in "counrtyside") photographs are grouped by county.
Springfield, Illinois: All of my photographs of Springfield and the Abraham Lincoln Sites are in this collection. For the City of Springfield, there are separate sets for the Capitol Complex, Downtown (including the Old State Capitol), Neighborhoods, Parks, Illinois State Fairgrounds (and past State Fairs), and more. Photographs of Lincoln sites include the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Lincoln Tomb, and so on. Also in the Lincoln "All About Abe" (Set) are a few Lincoln sites not located in Springfield.
The Illinois State Fair: My collection of photographs of the Illinois State Fair. The fair offers something for everyone. Grab a corn dog and lemon shake-up, and come take a look!
Beyond Central Illinois: Other locales in the United States and Canada including New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Seattle.
In addition to my location-based sets, here are links to some "topical" collections and sets I've put together:
Barbers & Barber Shops: Traditional barbers and barber shops are on the endangered species list. But there are still plenty to be found if you go looking for them.
Almost Everything Else. Check It Out!!!: Included topics range from man's first walk on the moon to small town schools and churches, and from Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers (our favorite breed) to things that are abandoned, neglected, weathered, or rusty.
Thanks for stopping by! - myoldpostcards (Randy von Liski)

The Flickr Lounge-Its A Bargain
Found this at an indoor flea market in Albuquerque, NM. It was very inexpensive.
I've just been doing a clean up of my hard-drive, getting rid of old photos, and came across this photo of a female Adder. I love the diamond pattern of an Adder's scales on it's back and this particular female had very striking colours and markings.
