O scale Metra F40c built out of a MTH FP45 and a Atlas F40ph shell. Decals are a mix of Microscale HO and N. shell cut to scale, exhaust stack replaced, side windows replaced. Panels are made out of styrene. Hand painted stripes up front, red is Italian Red, blue is Ford Engine Blue. I'll post a finished pic when I get the a/c units installed, fuel tank and window glass.
Breakout Session: Scaling Impact Enterprises
Creating energy from landfills, connecting women-led coffee cooperatives with international buyers, verifying medications by mobile phone. The audacious ideas of social entrepreneurs can change the world, but critical barriers often inhibit these ideas from getting off the ground. While social entrepreneurs confront challenges typical for most entrepreneurs—such as access to capital, markets, and talent—by virtue of their business model they face added obstacles. Already expected to deliver on ambitious social and environmental returns in addition to financial returns, they also contend with greater institutional investor skepticism and appeasing a wider array of stakeholders. Social enterprises have nonetheless experienced significant growth, with traditional and impact investors committing more than $10 billion to these companies over the last four years—tripling their investments.
In this session, successful social entrepreneurs from around the world will share challenges from their work, as well as opportunities they see to achieve greater impact by scaling impact enterprises. Leaders from the private, public, and civil society sectors will also discuss how CGI members can:
• Design innovative approaches for impact enterprise talent recruitment, development, and retention.
• Define, measure, and communicate the social and environmental impact of social enterprises.
• Incorporate impact enterprises into their supply chains.
• Scale programs that support women and minority-owned enterprises.

You have to keep the weight down to under 5 pounds, or it just wont get off the ground. Converting shaft drive mechs to cable, allows me to keep tail rotor blades in there scale position.
I just like the colour contrasts, the bright ferns and tree against the brooding sky, and the lichen adds a splash of yellow on the posts. The path on the right is the circular route around Scaling Dam reservoir, we should have worn more waterproof shoes!
My mom got these from the post office as an interesting promotion. Each is cleverly designed such that a one, two, or three pound weight, respectively, will cause it's tip to touch the table top. These can be stacked to sum weights.
The mathematician in me thinks they should have chosen one, two and four pound ratings, as to create a superincreasing sequence.
You see, choosing which scales to combine is equivalent to the knapsack problem, an NP-complete problem which is rendered trivial by superincreasing sequences.

A helpful entomologist on Facebook identifies as:
Brown Soft Scale - Coccus hesperidum
Some of the scale insects have been parasitized by wasps, so we have a hemiparasitic plant, a parasitic insect of that plant, and a parasite of that insect--parasites all the way down.
