It was a huge surprise when I saw this bird land on the winter cover of the pool to wash up. It stayed there for 11 minutes, which allowed me to photograph it at length, a magical moment. Most of you will identify it easily, for others the answer in the following days.

When I saw this hair and cap from Wasabi in the Weekend Sale, I had to have it. It reminded me of times when a bunch of us would get together and play softball at the local sandlot. Then we had to grow up :(

This hair and cap is available at the Wasabi Store. You might still catch it on sale if you hurry.

It rained last night, but the sun was bright this morning. As I was looking for birds, I saw these lovely new blooms with big rain drops on it.

Saw several herds on this journey. Efforts underway to stop poaching, but it is an ongoing battle, as the gangs are so well organized.

I re-edited this image this morning, enjoy!

I saw men didn’t want to be saved from themselves, for that would mean they’d have to give up greed, and they’ll never pay that price for liberty. So I said to the world, God bless all here, and may the best man win and die of gluttony!

Eugene O'Neill - The Iceman Cometh

Saw a Buzzard flying much lower than usual at Attenborough Nature Reserve, Nottingham. Quickly it came down and rested on a post. I watched it for a while and took shots of it on the post and also flying off and back onto it. An incredible few moments being much closer to one of these beauties than ever before!

I like them both leave it up to you to decide which is prettier.

Although I posted one of these beautiful Northern Saw Whet owls about a month ago I found another interesting shot. These owls are only the size of a large Robin.

NOTICE: If you look closely at the eyes you will see ice crystals on its brows. Then if you look at lower left of its body near tree you will see it is saving a vole for his afternoon snack... the vole's leg is sticking out.

Saw these beautiful trees at Olympic Park, London... HBW!

Saw perched in a cemetery tree, used the car as cover and shot out of the window, The Little Owl was quite inquisitive, landed on the floor and gravestone for a closer look !

Saw a lady walking these dogs and I asked her if she would mind if I 'd take a snap of her large format pets ;-)

Saw very few grass-topped roofs while traveling in Scandinavia, but had a great view of this one from our hotel room in Lillehammer, Norway. Not only was this city the site of the 1994 Winter Olympics, but the surrounding area was incredibly beautiful with dense forests and rolling mountains. Lillehammer is located on the largest lake in the country, Lake Mjosa, making for picturesque views in every direction. This totally came to mind for the "Smile on Saturday!" group challenge "Begins with G" for both the grass roof topping and the grass mowing goat! Had to share a similar shot, taken in Door County, Wisconsin, which most certainly has a Scandinavian vibe to it: flic.kr/p/2mfjHsX .

I was trying for a full backside pic with head turned around but it partially moved its body when looking back here.

The Ringturm is the headquarters of the Vienna Insurance Group. "The facade of the Ringturm has been converted into a giant art work" every year during the summer months since 2006 by different arists.

I saw those three trees on the flank of a hill back in January in Damüls on an evening walk. They stand in a triangle on this empty slope in the shadow, while the clouds in the background are hit by the light of the setting sun.

This black phoebe was perched on one of the sticks in the lake, when it spotted something in the water worth flying about.

I saw this scene whilst on my walk in the very early morning. I loved that the other side of the fence looked so warm and welcoming, and yet there is a private property sign blocking the way

It was a good migration day on my property on Saturday until I saw this bird in the woods in the afternoon . This Woodcock was a so-called "lifer" which I had sought unsuccessfully for 11 years and was at the top of my provincial most-wanted list.

Aaron Tremper of Audubon Magazine described them well:

American Woodcocks are perhaps the most memeable birds

on the continent. With their cartoonish looks and quirky

behaviors, these coy and plump internet favorites are met

with fans everywhere they go.

This one did some of their funny walking, dancng, digging moves, tail wags and at one point looked like it was laying eggs. In summary, this "timberdoodle" -- one of several nicknames -- was an absolute delight and made it a great migration day.

Saw this out walking the dogs. Not so easy to get a photo with 2 dogs pulling.. HA..

Saw this little beauty while on a self guided jungle hike in Costa Rica. So many beautiful creatures in Costa Rica.

Saw this flowers beside a swimming pool in our village.

Saw so many Buzzards on Mull last weekend. Just had to "Post" Another one

The Stockdale Saw Mill is one of the oldest saw mills in Ontario. It is thought to have been built around 1870 and operated for more than a century of activity.

Today, this rustic, old abandoned mill appears on the verge of collapse and is likely too far gone for a restoration project.

Saw him the first time on Thursday....

We saw quite a few of these small, colourful Dragonflies in Kefalonia. I'm not entirely sure of the id and don't think it's a Common Darter - could it is possibly be either a Scarlet Darter or maybe a Ruddy Darter - correct id would be welcome.

UPDATE - It looks like it is probably a Red-veined Darter (Sympetrum fonscolombii) thanks to Nick Brischuk for the id. This appears to have the same black and yellow legs and the blue patch on the bottom of the eyes.

Our love is pretty new

And you say it's only me and you

I wanna believe it's true

'Cause all the signs are there

And it's obvious how much you care

And that kinda thing feels weird

One day you'll stop thinkin' of me

No "I love you"'s in a week

Then we'll hardly even speak and that's okay

One day you'll just walk out the door

Say it's over 'cause you're bored

Find someone that you love more

But that's okay

I'm sure that it won't last

'Cause I've felt some bad love in the past

And that kind is all I've had (that kind is all I've had)

So I don't believe you when

You say you'll be there 'til the end

I get ddéjà vu again

I saw it coming anyway

I already know the storyline

And all the empty promises

I've heard 'em all at least a thousand times

So I won't be surprised

Saw this mushroom on the forest floor attached to a small plant via some white sap,can only assume it must have been feeding off of it.

I saw these birds in a large puddle down at Hamilton waterfront. I had my large Sony with the large lens on (which was good) but no tripod to help steady the beast (which was not good)

Half of them good and half not.

Hearing of Glen Campbell's passing has bothered me. I do feel sad when any great musician passes, but he was seriously one very important musician. Part of the wrecking crew in L.A. and very influential. Good friend to Alice Cooper.

A horrible thing for a family to go through. His Daughter wrote this song and it is moving. You WILL get a tear in your eye.
