We saw 3 owls at the ball fields and one at the library, but none had a background or habitat that was pleasing. After driving around town for a while and looking at the vacant lots (of which there are far fewer due to the building boom) we found this cutie that had a nice nest and surroundings.

He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.

Got snowed off yesterday, so went to Fingeringhoe wick nature reserve for a walk. Bumped into a kingfisher at kits pond, both surprised, naturally it flew off!

Saw my first Tree creeper, it out flaked me on the blind side of the tree!! Typical! But did manage this shot in the rain after the snow!

Saw this in a stretch of reeds from where reed warblers had fledged..Thanks to those who who have kindly told me its a Chiffchaff.

I saw this model of this huge battleship while touring the Carrier, USS Lexington, in Corpus Christi, Texas. This ship has an amazing battle record. The american Navy no longer uses these ocean monsters. I believe the last time one was ever used was off the coast of Vietnam. They look awesome pulling into port. Here's a link where you can find out more info: www.militaryfactory.com/ships/detail.asp?ship_id=USS-Sout...

I saw the weather forecast for 03-12-2022 and it said ....foggy so an early night and out before daybreak to get to Kinver Edge and it didn't disappoint ......plenty of fog and loads of lovely trees ......a magic morning

I saw this cow and I do take a picture of him that day, but then he was gone after the day I took a picture of him, I was so sad because many thoughts appeared in my head, is he killed by the butcher? etc. flic.kr/p/2nRmDgv

today I was passing through the field and saw him, and I am really happy for he is alive then I called him and he towards me (he didn't say anything, of course he can't speak, haha), I think it's definitely some kind of lost and found.

I deeply hope he has a happy life and healthy. 🐃

Have a great day and stay well, my friends.,😊😊

Une marche au Bois Sainte Dorothée, Laval avec Marie Sauriol. Environ 3h00 et plus. Nous avons trouvé la Petite Nyctale très bien cacher dans les conifères dans l'ombre. Je l'ai éclaisie beaucoup.

Saw this two weeks ago while on a hunt for butterflies...A friend of mine ID'd it for me. I had hoped to get back to see it fully in bloom, but so far that hasn't happened...it looks like an alien:).

We saw this Common Snipe flying past us and finally located where it had landed in the reeds. Unfortunately the light was not great where it landed!

When I saw this mural I was shocked and intrigued at the same time. Thanks to gavweaver.com we now know what it is and means.

Wiki says.......

""""Since 1856, the name Baphomet has been associated with the "Sabbatic Goat" image drawn by Éliphas Lévi, which contains binary elements representing the "symbolization of the equilibrium of opposites", e.g. half-human and half-animal, male and female, good and evil, on and off, etc.).

On one hand, Lévi's intention was to symbolize his concept of balance that was essential to his magnetistic notion of the Astral Light; on the other hand, the Baphomet represents a tradition that should result in a perfect social order.""""

... saw these 2 lonely tiny raccons waiting for Mom's return. My Gosh they were so tiny - a foot long if that. They were so close if I desired I could have touched them. Be safe and enjoy always.

Rehe***European / western roe deer***Capreolus capreolus

We saw that tiny guy during our journey through the forest. He seemed lost. Either slept till the day time and forgot to come back into his hole. We found the closest one and brought him there. Hope he is all well now.

I saw you today.

I didn’t mean to see what I saw, but I saw it and you cannot unsee that. I’m sorry.

Becky saw the nice sunflowers that Anya brought me for Valentine's Day and ask if she could have her picture taken with them.. I told her one but not the whole bouquet.. So here she is, the happy camper holding one of the sunflowers.. Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday, Everybody!!!!!

Northern Saw-whet Owl with a big yawn for such a cute little bird. Montgomery Co. PA.

we saw this blond male a few times in Mara North Conservancy, while he was in the company of a female of a small pride. Initially she refused to mate with him but we heard afterwards that they were seen while mating.

Deep inside an oak hammock was this beautiful example of an incredibly old saw palmetto. They are amazingly slow growers of only 1/4 inch to 3/4 inch per year and it can take 100 years for one to become an adult. The long pithy stem is an identifier for this plant and I estimate the length of the stem to be15 foot at minimum. Do the math this is a very old palmetto.

..........I saw more of it today, I got shown footholds of which to hold and signposted the way to go.....dark clouds gathered around....I got my way ;)

297 days till LOVE YOUR PET DAY

www.wikidates.org/daystill/love-your-pet-day_554.html

I saw several orioles on this trip but this specimen gave me the best photo opps. I was disappointed to find one out of focus oriole that I never noticed until I was going through my photos. I had been focussing on a different bird and never noticed it. Luckily I didn't have such a problem with this one. I have other pics I will post of this bird later that clearly show the yellow/orange shoulder mark that separates this from the hooded oriole.

The first time I saw a Short-tailed Hawk it was in a Cypress Tree having lunch. I looked and looked through my bird books and references online and couldn't identify it. It was a dark phased individual and everywhere I had been looking showed it in its light phase, like this one. When I saw this one soaring down in Miami, I was pretty sure that it was a Short-tailed. Looking at images online I believe that this one is a juvenile. The adult has a more distinctively dark head and whiter chest and belly. They eat smaller birds, like grackles, red-winged black birds and meadowlarks. I've read that they hunt from the air, often making a series of swoops down taking their prey off a perch or possibly in the air. It's a sight I've never seen and only rarely see this species. (Buteo brachyurus)

Correction. Thanks to the help of several folks and my own research I've determined that this is a Red-shouldered Hawk. (I hope I'm right.) Short tailed hawks have a cleaner belly and chest and the light phase has a very dark head and the white of the chest forms a thick line up to the bill. Learning is half the fun.

Saw a Buzzard flying much lower than usual at Attenborough Nature Reserve, Nottingham. Quickly it came down and rested on a post. I watched it for a while and took shots of it on the post and also flying off and back onto it. An incredible few moments being much closer to one of these beauties than ever before!

Backyard view from inside my frosty Halloween pumpkin. Jack will soon become food for our resident white-tailed deer.

or sall limits, either way

Saw several herds on this journey. Efforts underway to stop poaching, but it is an ongoing battle, as the gangs are so well organized.

I re-edited this image this morning, enjoy!
