Save by Ikurin Vire Hockey goalie Janne Karvonen on Finnish 2nd division game between Pirkkalan Pingiinit and Ikurin Vire Hockey

I'm so hoping this tree is just going to get some root work and trimming done, but I think this tree is going to be cut down because the roots have destroyed the sidewalk. The overgrown tree also provide a cover of darkness for homeless people sleep along the sidewalk at night

More than 2000 people came out in Christchurch today to protest against planned school closures.

They are fighting a Government proposal announced last week to close 13 schools and merge 18 into nine and relocate a further seven in the wider Christchurch area.

Teachers, parents and students have reacted angrily to the proposal and want the Government to back down on the education overhaul.

Worried fisherman, kayakers and outdoor enthusiasts voice their concern over the proposed plans to further dam the Poudre River.
