There were about 1.5 million adult African penguins along the southern African coast in the 1930's. Human activities - over fishing, oil tanker disasters etc. - have reduced this number by a staggering 90% in less than a century.

15 March: QLD Liberal leader Campbell Newman had a lunch with John Howard as part of his election campaign. Some Greenpeace vollies & activists went too to say g'day & offer a policy suggestion: Help Queensland, protect the reef. Not sure how well it was swallowed...

Save the Buckeye held a great tailgate event on October 25, making
appearances at ESPN College Game Day, getting signatures from star Buckeye
players, and sending more than two dozen canvassers out among tailgating
Buckeye fans to spread the word about the Buckeye's plight. We even talked
to Brutus himself! All had a great time. Stay tuned for more Save the
