Bees need all the support we can give. One of the best ways is to sow wildflowers and to encourage councils to have cutting plans on road verges and some parkland that compliment their growth.
Without them we would have to cross pollinate flowers by hand for a large percentage of our everyday food!?Without pollination, many interconnected species and processes functioning within our ecosystem will collapse.

We took Saved to the Start Garden Party at Clarence House, 8th -19th September. Here are some photos from our stand.
Last weekend I was back in the Detroit area for a wedding. One of the sites that we wanted to shoot was the old Michigan Central Depot. It is such a strange sight. A completely abandoned building in the middle of a large city. Unfortunately, it is not the only one. This must have been a beauty back in her day.

The venerable Criminal Records, located in Hotlanta, Gee A, may be closing down soon if they don't raise like a fuckton of money ($150,000?). Criminal Records is in the triumvirate of awesome indie stores in ATL, Videodrome and Acapella Books rounding out that list.
CR has been a part of the ATL indie scene for 20 years, selling comic books, movies, vinyl, CDs, t-shirts, magazines, even retro-candy! It is the heart and soul of Little Five Points, ATL's bohemian shopping mecca.
A few years ago, the owners moved the location from its smaller store on Moreland to the more sizable location on Euclid, and some say this is attributable to the impending demise of the store, given the higher rents, etc
But of course, it's so much more than that. Digitalized music is a huge culprit here, as we all know. The demise of CR would be on par with the demise of Oxford Bookstore, another cherished indie institution in ATL, from a bygone era. And it's also on par with the recent loss of Movies Worth Seeing, itself a victim of the digital movie market.
The employees of CR are knowledgable, dedicated music-freaks, sans the typical snobbery of such places. Criminal Records is a fucking amazing place and it would be a tragedy to lose it! You can buy online from CR to support them:
And remember to shop indie and local WHENEVER POSSIBLE!
Lakeview Elementary School is one of several schools which was closed on June 15. Oakland Unified School District plans to use the school as an administrative office.
