Maartje is with me now for 6 days and already feels at home. The first two days she stayed in the atticroom and the others came to see her one by one, hissed a little bit and disappeared. Last Saturdaymorning already she went downstairs with me and Cortez was hissing as soon as she came to near but that is over and she is accepted. Jasmijn is trying to play with her. I am releaved it went that fast. Because when Maartje came to my mother 6 years ago she was extreemly shy.
My mother is going to the nursery house tomorrow. She makes a little progress with walking. She is glad that Maartje is with me and that she likes it.
This picture was taken at my mothers home. I have not taken new pictures of her yet, it is to dark at home these days.
Morning light overlooking the wharf from which we off-load phosphates to make fertilizers. Perhaps looks a bit more romantic than the reality but the gull is real as was the light.

Cumulonimbus (Cb) is a towering vertical cloud, that is very tall, dense, and involved in thunderstorms and other inclement weather. Cumulonimbus originates from Latin: Cumulus "Heap" and nimbus "rain". It is a result of atmospheric instability. These clouds can form alone, in clusters, or along a cold front in a squall line. They create lightning through the heart of the cloud. Cumulonimbus clouds form from cumulus clouds (namely from cumulus congestus) and can further develop into a supercell, a severe thunderstorm with special features.

Hope you have a warm and wonderful weekend!
I took these five photos today along with numerous other "keepers". It was a good day for me. I think I was high on having my photos featured on Urban Photo Mag.
A quick winter walk down to the duck pond to throw some bread to the birds. It was chilly and crisp this morning but was a great way to start the day by getting a little bit of fresh air and entertainment for Gus.
Explored!
Only my second time ever up to this tree. It's a bit of a dander from the main road :)

Named after a question posed to me on Facebook about this photo. It was pretty wicked watching the clouds swirl around.
not what I had envisioned with the heavy ND filter, but more fun to see the effects and process! North fork of the Skykomish River near Index, Washington.
It's Saturday morning...that means it's ballet time for Jessie. And taking pictures time for daddy. :) I got a lot of good shots this time which I will be posting today as time permits.
I shot a similar shot last week. Normally I don't like to shoot the same shot over again, but Jane pointed out to me that the picture would have looked so much better without the tap shoes. At first I blew her off...but after looking at the picture some more, I agreed. So here's a new version with just the ballet shoes. I opted to leave this one in color since i like the soft colors and the striped tights.
Ok~~ok...it's been done...time and time again...but~
Not by me...So, I'm takin my turn! Whoo~whoo~~
I totally cheated though...I went outside. Are you kidding me, you folks that do this in the kitchen??? Wow...this is messy...even though I didn't yield any BIG splashes. And FYI a little cookie doesn't do the trick. I had to go find a rock. And another thing I noticed about my "studio" ~~~no cool coffee mugs. Note to self: Go buy some groovy mugs.
Ok~~again, MANY Thanks to Skeletalmess~Jerry has so much goodness floating around!!! And check out his website: shadowhousecreations.blogspot.com/
Happy Saturday Everyone!

The grounds of the Saudi embassy to Canada in Ottawa are completely overgrown with weeds and tall grass, and there's no evidence that any kind of upkeep has been done for well over a year now. I wonder what's going on...

Seven year old Amish girl working in the family stall at the Farmers Market in Bloomington on a Saturday morning. She and her family come from Odon, IN about 30 miles to the south. The Amish population has doubled since 2000. 80% of young Amish stay with their community and become baptized after Rumspringa (Running around)
