Here's yet another shot from my New Zealand trip. This was on the morning following our first night in our camper van (....so not a good night sleep!) on our way north towards the 90 mile beach. It was also the first experience we got of the sand fly......the insect that can only be described as the mosquitos big brother that diets on steroids, beef and pasty British folk.

In another Grand Beach photo I talked about all the amazing features that makes this beach famous and very popular. One was that the entire beach is bordered by a huge tall line of the deepest softest sand dunes you can even imagine playing in.
This is a photo of just a small section of the sand dunes behind the beach. The sand is so deep and soft. You could dig forever and its the same powdery soft sand. The same sand that makes up the beach and the sand that stretches far out into the lake.
A look on some of the sand-dunes in the Namib-naukluft national park national park. The red-orange is sand of course while the yellow is grass. Grass may sound like it is a good think but in reality it is killing of the animal that are adapted to the desert and sibce it is still quite far from being any other ecosystem lever something with less life behind.
You can see more Namibian scenes in my Namibia set.
You could watch this Large On Black since that brings out more details. My pictures aren't balanced for a white background.

Lancelin, just north of Perth, attracts a range of enthusiasts - on both sea and land. Windsurfers and kite boarders love the strong consistent winds. Off road enthusiasts love the extensive sand dunes.
Sand boarders straddle the best of both worlds, battling sand, sun and wind
Awesome to take a walk out to the 'Big Drift' inland sand dunes at Wilson's Promontary National Park.
I could not stand that @wildlocks has no intentions to post this picture. Stealing it :)
A wonderful evening on the dunes of world's second largest desert, the Thar.
