State of play for sampler January 2005. Very little changed from January 2004 (Heartsease added).
Whole thing started Feb 2002, so has gone to top of UFO list
I will be discussing my progress on
South Beach, Miami Beach, Saturday evening, Tapas Y Tintos. Danny's meat sampler. For the price, I thought it'd be bigger. I told that fool just to order a bunch of tapas, but no, he had to be predictable.
Dad loved his vaporizing decongestants, and if you don't believe me, I offer up photographic proof of five jars of vaporizing decongestant from the 1960s to the 2000s. We'll no doubt find more as we go through his things.
By the end, his chest was menthol-y, he wasn't my father anymore!
Just kidding. He appreciated a good joke. If only I could come up with one.
This is my first free on line tutorial for thai quilters. I used EQ5 patterns that I designed by myself. It was fun!
A sampling of the bees offered by Lost Nation Brewery. In addition to making some of the finest and old style offerings, they keep the alcohol content below 6% in all of their beers so that they can be enjoyed.
Great beer samplers at Victoria Gastro Pub. They have a couple predefined, like this one, or you can make your own. This is the East Side sampler: Southern Tier Unearthly Imperial IPA, Brewer’s Alley Kolsch, Flying Dog Gonzo Porter, Dogfish Head India Brown Ale & Weyerbacher Echo. (It starts with Unearthly in the glass with the little star in front of it and goes clockwise.)
Belonged to Mary Fennell.
But thofe who worfhip God/And give their parents honour due/Here on this earth they long fhall live/And live hereafter too.
Worthy sentiments of one Mary Woodhead (1796)
My wife and I had breakfast at Cracker Barrel. I had one of the sampler platters which included eggs, hash brown casserole, bacon, sausage, ham, fried apples, biscuits with sawmill gravy and grits.

I decided on a modified circle shape - It's more of a flower shape... a circle with a sort of a scalloped edge. Since the outside was circular I wanted circle blocks. As I was making the pattern for the background, I discovered it fit my round table just right. So I knew the finished piece would be a table topper and perfect for holiday parties. That meant red for my third color - a rich Moda Marbles Red. To tie the blocks in with the background, I added narrow bits of red anywhere the black and white would have laid next to each other. Having trouble selecting the block to use meant making a sampler. I made several basic square blocks then cut them into circles. This really changes the look of the block.... among these blocks is a four patch and a pinwheel. To jazz it up I added Fun Fur Yarn (not sure if I jazzed it up and made it ready for a bordello!). The blocks are echo stitched in red. I added fabric loops along the edges where the scallops indent and little metal rings to the "peaks" of the round part. Fun Fur is strung through these and a bottle of a favorite beverage can be wrapped up - instant hostess gift.... open the bottle and lay out the table topper and you've got a start on your party!

The stars are right! The mad chocolatier of Arkham in the Little Candy Shop of Horrors has produced another confectionary wonder: The Pickman’s Sampler, just in time for the Equinox Bunny. They are all so wonderful, which one will be eaten first? They are so delightful, you’ll just lose your mind!
