Here it is now, folks. All crumpled and in need of a wash, still smelling of woodsmoke from when I sat and stitched by the communal fire at Uncivilisation. I'm certainly getting better at stuff, and I'm running out of space! Here's the last photo of it: www.flickr.com/photos/35345383@N05/5926168215/ bit bigger now, eh?

Blogged.

This is my first official embroidery sampler and wow, was it ever fun to make! Who knew "complicated" stitches were so easy?! :-D

Pattern by Wild Olive.

Finished slightly sooner than expected; 11"x15"

Signed this off yesterday, just needs a bit of a wash and an iron. I started teaching myself embroidery spring 2010 by drawing stuff in biro then stitching over it. This is a sampler of all my practise, from my very first attempts. Time to start a new one!

Here it is just getting started disobedientchild.wordpress.com/2011/01/12/practice-makes-...

All Done. Not perfect, but learned a lot following along Pretty By Hand and even made some modifications of my own. Going to frame it yellow or red. To go along with my inspiration colors Vintage Modern by Bonnie and Camille.

love it on grey!

Some random stitch practice.

Commission brief: Old fashioned and have a squid in it. Yeah baby, whaddya reckon? I'm a bit pleased with this.

Actually timed this, which is a good thing, as if asked I would have guessed I would spend/had spent about 6 maybe 7 hours stitching. Fifteen and a half :O Dang. This knowledge will really help me on future projects!

Out for a hike today after a night of rain, the forest floor was decorated with newly emerged and colorful mushrooms. As luck would have it, I did not bother to take my DSLR along but did have my phone, which was used to capture this sampler. To put them all together, I emailed them to myself for access on my desktop, used LR for a quick edit, PS to create a contact sheet, emailed them back to myself for access on my phone again, and Snapseed to create a border. Then back to my desktop to upload to Flickr. With all that roundabout processing (I'm sure there's a simpler way) would it qualify for Sliders Sunday?

Sorry for the dark pic. I can't keep secrets to save my life so here's the whole top, including the surprise middle block. Thanks to all for the awesome suggestion of contrasting sashing. I love it! Now for the quilting!
