The ICON UK 2018 conference took place in Birmingham Thursday 13th and Friday 14th of September 2018.
ICON UK is the former UK Lotus user group. It’s focused on the IBM Collaboration Software platform (IBM Notes/Domino, IBM Sametime, IBM Connections, Websphere etc).
The speakers are IBM customers, users and partners, as well as from IBM and HCL, the new partner who is doing the development of the ICS portfolio.
It was a fun conference, with a lot of useful stuff. I delivered my lecture “30 tips about IBM Verse,” IBM’s webmail and calendar interface.

A stray cat looks to be near his end. I thought the picture of him laying on the ledge with the patterns in the wood planks below was interesting.
Hand held and shot at f/22. Trying to get both the foreground and background in focus at the sametime despite there being several feet of space between them and shooting from very close to the end of the planks.
I was visiting Berlin Brandenburg Tor to check out 31st night Party arrangements. When i was coming back trough Tier Garden, i found its eyecatching beautiful with snow. Though i was missing all green leaves of the tress but its also nice to see in different way sametime.
In broad daylight. This blind driver is definitely day dreaming and driving too fast at the sametime.

I choose this painting becuase of El Greco's style. Every painting that Ive seen of his seems to be somewhat dark but also enlighting at the sametime. El Greco had a specific style to him. It was very mystical and emotional. He also had alot of landscape paintings which attracted me to this one. Even though its not a full landscape the way he ties in the grass that Christ is kneeling on and the way the tree branches almost look like they are dead is such a way to capture the viewers attention. El Greco was known for Mannerism to be within his paintings. I see Mannerism in Christ since El Greco liked to enlongate the bodies within his paintings and he liked to make the heads unproportional to the bodies and this painting is an excellent example of that since it was a big theme in Renaissance art in the 16th century.

This has become my traditional 'first camping picture', somewhere between the Grapevine and Bakersfield on I-5, as the sunrise starts to peek over the horizon, the last of the cool air of the night slowly giving way. Everyone is usually asleep by this point, and I have the radio to myself. We listened to Rimsky-Korsakov's Shererazade and Easter Overture on the way up to the mountains...

In Finland summer's nights are very bright, you can't do these kind of photos then. In fall and in winter, evenings are getting darker, and sametime it's getting much colder. This evening it was about 0 celsius...
I got some looks when taking these... lol.. I didn't have a tripod with me, but dustbins helped... ;-)

The Caraiman Monastery of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is one of the newest monastic hearth of the Archdiocese of Bucharest.
The begginings of the monastery were made in 1998, when the PF Teoctisc blessed the hieromonk Gherontie Puiu to raise here a wooden hermitage.
The wooden church was sanctified in 2001.
It was also built an "agheasmatar" (building next to a church, used for the sanctification of the holy water) and a series of modest cells.
The patronation of the church is the Assumption.
In 2008, the small hermitage becomes a monastery.
Today, a massive wall church is also finished and consecrated, dedicated to the Exaltation of the Cross.
In my pictures of 2005, you can clearly see the "stone" church and the bell tower under construction.
In the middle of the monastery, there is a fir-tree cut by a storm, in which it was found the face of the Virgin Mary, tree in the shape of a giant chandelier.
On its top, there is a white cross that light at the nightfall, at the sametime with the public illumination of the town of Busteni.
Inside the wooden chapel, built around the great tree, the trunk is closed between four wooden walls, each side being adorned with icons and the Holy Cross.

today has been going by kind of fast.i got my eyebrows rethreaded and i got some chicken fingers from steak n shake:Di must say they are supah good and tastey.i also got a large milkshake and omfg it was HUGE.well the tallest cup ive ever seen.before that i went to church and learned alot about myself.
