Again, the foreshortening plagues me as I could not get the camera directly square above the original without a shadow.
Another shot from Sam's Supermarket.
Sam from our studio photoshoot last Thursday. This was the last of the 5 looks we shot, though I also did a version of this look at the studio window (which I also really like). Using a single large softbox on a boom to light this shot. Nice portfolio shoot; it will be good to see how Sam does with her shot. You've got to give it a go, you never know what the future holds.

Fireman Sam getting tangled up in the birthday bunting! Based on the Debbie Brown cake from her favourite characters book.
A photographer who uses various sorts of social media to share his photos, Sam recognized me as "Chris Collins" from the countless self-portraits I post here on Flickr. I suppose while a bit vain, it has it's benefits. Turns out I took a photo of Sam's friend Scot last summer. Just goes to show how small a city Madison really is! He agreed easily for the 100 strangers and being that it was a rather mild evening we enjoyed a bit of candid conversation. I think the most interesting thing that I found out about Sam is an avid user of the popular sharing site Instagram: BUT he doesn't really care for the square crop. This was a relief for me, as while I don't use Instagram I rarely crop square (unless emergencies). We exchanged contact info so that we could get together and snap photos sometime (weather is no matter for Sam, it's just the question of will his camera tolerate the elements). Sam is currently on a hiatus from school and figuring things out, which give him plenty of time to roam the isthmus and capture the sites with his camera. Upon parting ways I knew that I had found a new photography partner, always good to have people to call at a moments notice for snapping photos! A face to be recognized as a member of my (608)strangers.

Sam's balaclava was a bit icy after our snowmobile safari. Gareth had real trouble with his glasses - as they steamed up, which then froze
