Sam and I were minding our own business yesterday evening when this guy popped in to check us out...
Taken during his tour stop at the NAC in February... from sitting in the 4th row.

First of all let me say this picture was not my idea. A very talented photographer and my dear friend Rachel put this image together and I just jumped in at the end and STOLE the idea outright. The only reason I posted this (since she'd already covered this ground) was because I LOVE Sam's eyes and I wanted to do a treatment that focused there. Thanks for musing on this Rach - and thanks to Sam for being Sam - and for speaking with those two gorgeous eyes.
In fact here is another stunning photo of Sam's eyes in a favorite of mine taken by the aforementioned Rachel.

We went on a tour of Hot Springs Cove on Vancouver Island, and these dogs from the native village across the water would swim across the cove each day to suck up to the tourists for attention and food. I fell in love with this guy, and had the hardest time getting on the boat without him. I named him Sam.

Sam is unable to control his giddiness around our neighbor's daughter, Mikenzie. They adore each other. Sadly, they're moving out of state today. Sammy's first heartbreak.
In exploration of the anneALgo, which is becoming an ideal test sketch and algorithm for SAM to test drive.
SAM managed to draw two iterations of this image; one was the single line procedure, the other using pointillisme. This is basically calculating distances between points and deciding on whether to draw to or move to that new point. The anneAlgo does have a rather old school 1960's aesthetic to it. We like it.
SAM however is suffering from mechanical problems, especially with his hand. We need to get to the drawing board on that one and make a better piece. In the meantime we are pushing on with software experiments so we can have at least a decent robust little program for SAM and future developments.
