This is a shot of the October 8th 2014 eclipse from Houston, Texas.
It's just one shot taken with a 500m lens featuring a statue of Sam Houston along with the partially eclipsed moon.
We went to a friend of Sams house, who had what I was told was a beautiful backyard. I wasn't lied to, the backyard was beautifully manicured, hedges and bushes meticulously maintained, flower beds constructed with love with perfectly color coordinated flowers. However all I could see was the breath taking 1950s era Chevy truck. It was a magnificent specimen of American steal and Detroit engineering. To say I was immediately obsessed, would be an understatement. In an instant every portrait shot I had ever taken was put in context with this truck. So like any natural admirer of stunning American relics, all I wanted to do was shoot these prom portrait in, around, and on this truck. Sam had different ideas. And I can not say I blamed her, it was after all HER prom, she wanted flowers, and trimmed hedges, and vine covered archways. She reluctantly agreed to take a few photos with the truck. She did not realize that I meant I wanted her to get IN the truck. She had grown up around this truck, had been embarrassed at school by this truck, and I am assuming many a bbq and day in the pool had been filled with those only wanting to shower this truck with his or her affections. I had only taken maybe 4 or 5 shots, when she had had enough and quickly affixed her displeasure on me. Oh and it was SO worth it.

I was planning to do an epic Holi powder battle photoshoot, so while visiting Sam Petty in Austin, TX, we decided to test out a bit of the Holi powder.
This was on the first day of her last year of college, and even though she scrubbed herself raw after the shoot, not all the color came out. So she had to walk into her first senior classes looking orange & purple.
