On this day I did a group ride with a tough 24 miles with brutal headwind and a few neighborhood hills, but the company and post ride burrito was totally worth it. Thanks to Brett Carroll of the Cap City Cyclists Madison for putting this together!
I was able to join a local group ride for a lake loop and snap some pictures on the last Monday in April and found it very therapeutic. It made me think to myself, have you ever seen someone not happy on a bike?
I love the way this shot fortuitously lines up the trees and road in the reflection with the trees and road in the rest of the direct view. I didn't even see this, at least not consciously, until weeks later when I was reviewing the pictures from this trip.
A graffiti sticker: "Give Hipsters A Brake. Safety First. POP EXPRESS....." I'm guessing that it either wryly refers to "hipster" track bikes that don't have brakes, or someone didn't spell "break" correctly. The front fork seems to have been put on backwards, too. :-)

United States Army Garrison Fort Hamilton's Morale, Welfare, and Recreation provided the first 100 attendees with a Chicken sandwich proudly sponsored by Chick Fil-A, at the Garrison's Safety Awareness Day event held on June 29th, 2023, in support of National Safety Month.
