This Pacsafe travel purse comes with two features to thwart pickpockets - a latch that locks the zipper closed and steel mesh inside the fabric to stop knives from slicing through.
1st place winner in last year's 2nd quarter competition for the International Registry of Children's Photographers (irocp.com). I had to be quite patient as this little one squirmed and inched herself into this oh-so-perfect pretzel.
Macro Mondays - Safety
These leather palmed gardening gloves were the favourite gift my husband received for Christmas 2019. Firstly because they came in an XXL size so they actually fitted and they are the only ones that offered full protection against the lethal spiky thorns of a pyracantha hedge !!!
.... without stuff like this.
Locking carabiner - an essential piece of safety gear for rock climbing.
A safety razor is a shaving implement with a protective device positioned between the edge of the blade and the skin. The initial purpose of these protective devices was to reduce the level of skill needed for injury-free shaving, thereby reducing the reliance on professional barbers. The term was first used in a patent issued in 1880
Thankfully the most popular hunting seasons in PA will soon be over. We'll be able to get back in the woods and scale back a bit on the orange!

This week's Macro Mondays theme is SAFETY. Having produced the background for the theme I then needed to get the "theme" in the foreground to get the shot. I wanted the dramatic background to work through the clear Safety Glasses and just use the light from that and subtle side lighting I had on in the distance.
The macro shot for the coming week will go up Monday
This is one leg of a step ladder. The red anti slip foot is designed with safety in mind by gripping the floor and keeping it from sliding. Foot measures 1-3/4" W. HMM
Posted for this week's Macro Mondays' group theme of "Eye[s].
What you're seeing here is a photo-merge of 2 macro images; one is of our resident cat's eyes and the other is a more modern, unused, solar-powered road reflector which are most often referred to as "Cat's Eyes" here in the UK. This particular one is a sample left by a company rep who was trying [unsuccessfully] to get our local authority to invest in the new design. Unlike the original "cat's eyes" which have remained largely unchanged since their invention in the 1930's, this one contains a micro processor which can emit different coloured light at different times of day and dependent on weather conditions. Also individual reflectors can be joined together and can be programmed to emit different light patterns for other road safety purposes. If you're suitably interested you can read more about them here: www.hellotrade.com/reflecto/active-products-drivers.html
I kept this sample to use a paperweight when at work and then, on retirement, brought it home as a souvenir.
You can see the 2 merged photos in their entirety in the comments below.
HMM to all in the group.
If you’ve seen enough 19th century textile mills in the Northeast United States, you might guess that this is one of those stair towers that breaks up the exterior expanse of brick.
It’s the last bit of the old Belding-Corticelli Mill still standing in Grosvenor Dale, Connecticut. Apparently the mill demolition was halted over an environmental violation in 2006 and the money to demolish the rest was gone by the time the project was green lighted to continue. A smokestack and a gatehouse still stand nearby.
Blue plastic safety cap: Push Down & Turn To Open / Close Tightly. Plastic bottle caps are everywhere--beverages, condiments, spices, toiletries, medicines--and yet they are not recyclable, at least not where I live. It pains me to have to throw plastic bottle caps in the trash.
