Weβve left St. Maarten and miss it already. Weβre at the Chicago OβHare Hilton and make the short hop back to Des Moines at noon.

Der Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) auf Sint Maarten ist bekannt fΓΌr die ΓΌber dem Maho-Beach niedrig anfliegenden Maschinen, nur eine schmale StraΓe trennt den Badestrand von Flughafenzaun. Das Foto mit der MD-83 HI977 von PAWA Dominicana zeigt einen selbst fΓΌr Sint-Maarten-VerhΓ€ltnisse extrem niedrigen Anflug bei dem die Maschine nur wenige Meter ΓΌber den KΓΆpfen bzw. dem Flughafenzaun hinwegdonnert.
The Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) on Sint Maarten is known for the aircraft flying low over Maho Beach; only a narrow road separates the beach from the airport fence. The photo with the MD-83 HI977 from PAWA Dominicana shows an approach that is extremely low, even by Sint-Maarten standards, with the aircraft thundering just a few meters above people's heads or the airport fence.

SCENERIC is what the sign says and that's what we got. Farther down the beach is totally nude and no cameras are allowed.
Only two more weeks and we will be headed back to St. Martin. Our timeshare is on that long, thin peninsula near the top, center of the photo.
