D1015 ‘Western Champion’ and D821 ‘Greyhound’ wait by the turntable at Kidderminster TMD on 6 October, 2024. The Warship had earlier been failed with a coolant leak and would miss its final working of the SVR’s 4-day ‘Autumn Diesel Bash’.
Former British Railways Type 2 diesel-electric D5054 [24054] approaches Kidderminster Town station with stock to form the 09:58 to Bridgnorth in May 1990. The preserved Class 24 was visiting the SVR to participate in the Diesel Gala.

It took 36 years and £1.4 million to get GWR Hall 4-6-0 4930 Hagley Hall back in steam to star in this year's Autumn Gala. It ran on the first day but sadly started a few line side fires. It was taken out of service to track down the source of the errant sparks so did not run on Saturday.
Still warm & looking immaculate, 4930 stands on shed at Bridgnorth.
