2857 ambles into Bewdley on the Severn Valley Railway with a service for Kidderminster.

57xx class pannier tank no. 5764 stands at Kidderminster, with a train for Bridgnorth.
Built at Swindon in 1929, 5764 entered service at Old Oak Common locomotive depot. Over the following 30 years, 5764 stayed in the London area, serving the GWR & BR until May 1960. After withdrawal, it was sold to London Transport, and renumbered L95.
It continued in service with LT until 1970, and was secured for preservation the following year, moving the SVR in June 1971, still wearing LT red livery.
It is still in service with the SVR, although currently awaiting overhaul, having clocked up more years with them than the GWR, BR & LT combined.

Festiniog Railway London Area Group volunteers would call in at Bridgnorth on their way home from a weekend working party in North Wales and see what progress was being made on the then fledgling Severn Valley Railway.
Although not yet open to the public, Severn Valley Railway members could travel on the trains so they sold day membership instead of tickets to ride. We took advantage of this, became SVR members for a day and declared that it was the best five bob we’d ever spent!
Early locomotives to arrive were Great Western 0-6-0 3205 and LMS 'Mickey Mouse' 2MT 2-6-0 46443.

A day out at the Severn Valley Railway 1940's re-enactment day. The last of 2 weekends in June and July for 2012. Great day up and down the main line with some right characters to boot.
