A great credit to all involved at the SVR in the restoration of this locomotive .
After being out of action for nearly 25 years BR Riddles 4MT 4-6-0 75069 returned for passenger duties on the SVR.
The Heavy General overhaul commenced in early 2013 and necessitated a new boiler barrel, much of the firebox was entirely new and many of the fittings and pipework were replaced.
After the SVR winter break when essential PW work was undertaken, passenger services resumed today and 75069 hauled the first departure the 10.30 hrs Bridgnorth - Kidderminster.
Looking and sounding superb 75069 is seen approaching Foley Park Tunnel having just departed fron Bewdley.

Advertised to appear at this weekends SVR Gala is 7802 "in 1965" condition.
I suspect it might be a bit cleaner than this record of Bradley passing Moat Lane and heading for the coast in Summer 1965.
Actually, it was absolute lashing down with rain, Dull grey overcast. Only a Nutter would be out in these conditions Photographing trains.
But Along came Luminar with Sky Replacement tool, and HEY PRESTO ...................
Seen at Arley participating in the Severn Valley Railway Autumn Steam Gala as a guest locomotive, 4953 4900/Hall class Pitchford Hall based on the Epping & Ongar Railway Essex. 4953 was built in 1929 and withdrawn from BR in1964, a late replacement for LMS 6229 Duchess of Hamilton unable to attend due to a mechanical problem.
Pitchford Hall is actually located only 17 miles from Bridgenorth the northern terminus of the SVR.

The GWR Autocoach (or auto-trailer) is a type of coach that was used by the Great Western Railway for push-pull trains powered by a steam locomotive. The distinguishing design feature of an autocoach is the driving cab at one end, allowing the driver to control the train without needing to be located in the cab of the steam locomotive. This eliminates the need to run the engine round to the other end of the coach at the end of each journey.
1450 (originally 4850) is a GWR 1400 class 0-4-2T locomotive.
