A great credit to all involved at the SVR in the restoration of this locomotive .
After being out of action for nearly 25 years BR Riddles 4MT 4-6-0 75069 returned for passenger duties on the SVR.
The Heavy General overhaul commenced in early 2013 and necessitated a new boiler barrel, much of the firebox was entirely new and many of the fittings and pipework were replaced.
After the SVR winter break when essential PW work was undertaken, passenger services resumed today and 75069 hauled the first departure the 10.30 hrs Bridgnorth - Kidderminster.
Looking and sounding superb 75069 is seen approaching Foley Park Tunnel having just departed fron Bewdley.

The unique liveried Class 31/4 31413 'Severn Valley Railway' was recorded on ballast duties at Penmaenmawr. In the background, construction of the Penmaenmawr By-Pass was in progress as part of the A55 North Wales Expressway Project.
Delivered from Brush Traction, Loughborough in August 1961, this Type 2 (D5812) was to provide over 35 years of service pior to withdrawal in May 1997. It was scrapped at C F Booth, Rotherham in early 1998.

D1015 ‘Western Champion’ and D821 ‘Greyhound’ wait by the turntable at Kidderminster TMD on 6 October, 2024. The Warship had earlier been failed with a coolant leak and would miss its final working of the SVR’s 4-day ‘Autumn Diesel Bash’.
Actually, it was absolute lashing down with rain, Dull grey overcast. Only a Nutter would be out in these conditions Photographing trains.

Former British Railways Type 2 diesel-electric D5054 [24054] approaches Kidderminster Town station with stock to form the 09:58 to Bridgnorth in May 1990. The preserved Class 24 was visiting the SVR to participate in the Diesel Gala.
