I'm amazed my sensor still worked after this shot. Plenty of blown out highlights and rescued shadows but still the light rays won the day. I think this image goes to prove how much range is possible without the use of filters and on camera processing. This was taken shielding the lens from as much glare as possible (of which there was a lot) and taking a series of shots at different apertures. f/11 came out the best. Then followed lots of work in LR to pull back detail using multiple brushes. At certain points I had given up trying, but perseverance paid off.

We had our company picnic at Golfland in Milpitas, and before everybody hit the course, I ran around getting a few pics. The castle looked pretty cool by itself, but I just had to play with it.

Supernova diffraction extreme.
I was trying to reproduce some cool lens flares, similar to what happens when doing astro photography and bright stars.
The number of diaphragm blades on your shutter when stopped down cause these star like spikes. Here my lens has 7 blades that causes 14 spikes. It's different for the # of intrusions into the light path.
What's neat about this is the reflections are also causing a hyperbola dot pattern as well due to the sensor.
I had fun with this one, HMM!
