Sunshine above the Eastern Fells. Not where I am on Hartsop Above How, however. It's p****** it down just behind me on Fairfield.
This was perhaps one of the most hilariously grim days I've ever had in the Lakes. Down to the weather, naturally. The forecast was for a lovely, sunny day across the district for my final day after several of unrelenting gloom. So with a spring in my step I decided to head to Patterdale and do St. Sunday Crag, Fairfield and Hartsop Above How. All started well until just before St. Sunday Crag when the cloud descended and I was in intermittent cold, driving rain with permanently zero visibility all the way around to after Hart Crag. Most of the day was spent exchanging curses on meterologists and all their kith and kin with the few fellow sufferers I met with. It turned out that the good men of the met were right in the grander scheme of things. Emerging from the clag onto the Hartsop above How ridge revealed a panorama of sun-drenched fells to the east and north - and apparently west and south, I chose the only cloud in the entire district: I'm sure it leered at me as I made my way along the ridge. My "friends" in Bassenthwaite, who had spent the day basking in late-summer sunshine thought the whole thing hilarious.

XDDD)

this is my cute hamster sunshine. she is a female and only lived a year :( she
died on feb. 22nd 2009 and she was born in march 2008 and got her in june.
