Caught this yesterday very unexpectedly at sundown...this is called a "sun pillar" and would not have known this had I not been a fan of "spaceweather.com" This is the first one I've ever seen and do wish I'd got better shots than what I had and the trees obscure the view here. Pardon the snowbanks, we've had snow!!

The sun, origin of image, color and visuality
The lighting give us opportunity to shooting
Also make image quality for us to choice
Caught this striking sun halo at a local beach yesterday. It was so bright I had to bracket several exposures, 1/640 f.22 (ISO 250) being the best.
Apparently it arises from a very thin layer of cirrus cloud made up of ice crystals. The cloud can be so thin it may hardly be visible. As it passes in front of the sun the ice crystals cause the light to refract, causing a halo to form.
That concludes today’s meteorology lesson!
Very many thanks to everyone who has message me about my eye. I'm just trying to get out and forget about it ...thank heavens I can still use the camera.
A slightly misty morning and strong sunlight generated genuine (!) strong beams of light through the trees and onto the meadow beyond!!
Sun is shining, the weather is sweet, yeah
Make you wanna move your dancing feet now
To the rescue, here I am
Want you to know, y'all, can you understand?
When the mornin´ gather the rainbow, yeah, yeah
Want you to know, I'm a rainbow too now
To the rescue, here I am
Want you to know, y'all, can you, can you, can you understand?
Sun is shining, the weather is sweet now
Make you wanna move your dancing feet, yeah
But to the rescue, here I am
Want you to know just if you can,
here I stand, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
Can you understand me now, baby?
Do you believe me?

Just before sunset on the Midland Highway somewhere near Jerico, Tasmania.
A long day of site visits from Devonport to Launceston. There are bushfires everywhere - I think the whole state is shrouded in smoke at the moment. The smoke made the sunset an eerie orange/ red colour.
I took my eldest son with me on this trip - he turned 13 a few days ago and now has his own Canon DSLR. He took some amazing photos from this trip. It turns out that 13 is also the magic age to get a Flickr account, so we're going to set that up and you'll be able to see his wonderful work.

transit sun in sagittarus in 10th house opposite transit (retrograde) mars in gemini in 4th house ... this actually really looks like how the energy of sagittarius looks to me in my head.
Therefore, just as fire licks up stubble and dry grass shrivels in the flame, so their roots will rot and their flowers wither. For they have rejected the law of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies; they have despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

16 квітня 2020 року, коли Київ затягнуло димом, за 140 км від столиці в місті Ічня, небо теж мало сірий колір. А сонце втратило свою яскравість і на нього можна було дивитися неозброєним оком.

On April 16, 2020, when the smoke in Kiev, 140 km from the capital city of Ichnya, the sky was gray. And the sun lost its brightness and you could look at it with the naked eye.
