Which to pull to turn the curtain?

cho-me.com

In the golden hush of a Sunday morning, Ben found his rhythm. Not in words, but in the quiet language of strings.

Shirtless, sunlit, and lost in the melody only he could hear, each chord was a memory, each note a whispered promise.

The world outside waited, but in this moment, all that mattered was the song he hadn’t yet finished… and the peace he found in playing it.

The fans will know!

Such a simple creation but oh well, I really loved working on that

I'm considering making a full set related to the show

These come with three different options; the simple static one, the flickering white and the flickering red one so it looks a little bit more magical!

Anyways, I hope you'll like these!

AAW Challenge: Wabi Sabi

Wabi Sabi philosophy comes from the Japan, and refers to beauty in an imperfect world. "Wabi" means elegance from a rustic and natural design, and "Sabi", means beauty in flaws that come with age.

Can you believe I found this Violin on the street inside a guitar case that had been tossed out, Perfect in every way except the strings are missing! thought it would be perfect for the assignment.

Wit: Placed the violin on white board and white background..

For Macro Mondays - String

-----------------------------------------

Shoe laces back in the day were called 'shoe strings'. This photo is 3" high x 2.75 inches wide. HMM, everyone.

Electric guitar detail.

Two electric guitar strings (1 and 6, the two E strings) lying on the back of a Fender 12-string electric. For Macro Mondays theme "two" and for 2016: one photo each day (93/366).

It's so hard to keep driving when you spot angry looking clouds, it takes me twice as long to get anywhere these days!

A macro view of where the violin strings attach to the tail piece of the violin, taken for the Flickr Friday group theme, "Tension." Crooked lines and a wonky horizon add to the already tense strings. The image frame represents 1½ -inches across.

Strobist info:

The scene was illuminated by two Nikon SB900 speedlights placed 90° CL/CR two-feet away and 16-inches above the subject. They were fired through two Neewer 24" x 24" soft boxes in Manual mode @ ¼ power.

The SB900's were triggered by three PocketWizard Plus X's.

Wanted to share another image from the musical instrument macro photography class that I recently attended. It's back to the violin again, which turned out to be my favorite subject of the afternoon.

I've always had an affinity for string instruments, especially after playing the cello for a number of years -- admittedly that was a quite a long time ago. Still have an appreciation for their sounds though, even all these years later.

This is a misty spider web with just a couple drops in focus and the rest out of focus. 50mm f/1.4 wide open.

[ As a side note, as soon as I saw the 'finished product' of this TtV on the computer screen R.E.M.'s ' Losing My Religion ' popped into my head. Anyone else feel / see the connection between the two? ]

5th March 2006 - update, sort of:

The first time I saw the video to "Losing My Religion" I was immediately reminded of my favorite short story by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, "The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings". The old man with angel's wings that falls from the sky in the video just HAD to be the same one as in the story. I was certain of it. That was 1991 and I was a sophomore, maybe a junior, in high school. Just tonight (about 1:30am on a Monday) I thought to look it up on the 'net. Sure enough, the video was based on the very story it had reminded me of ! As a side note, GGM was one of my two inspirations for our little boy's name, Gabriel. If I had had my way, that would have been Noah's first name and not his middle. Husbands. ; )
