Playing in the backyard last night, taking shots of the clouds rolling in before the storm - we're in the middle of a decent sized storm right now, rain falling and wind blowing pretty good.

I don't like the way the water turned out in the foreground...spoils the shot for me in some ways.
First full day of sunshine for days...stormy wet night though.
Storm clouds gain strength over a field near Minburn yesterday. Iowa was rocked by severe thunderstorms packing 60 to 70 mph winds, damaging hail and heavy rains.
We have had Spring in March, Summer in April and now we have November in May - 23rd May 2011 - the great summer storm.
This is the area between Armadale and Ardvasar, Isle of Skye, Scotland. the bay is home to many small boats which were undamaged.
There were some very big waves sweeping between the 'battleship island' and the headland.

This storm, on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, caused a lot of hail damage at Denver International Airport.
Storms building over the ridge, like many others who travel to the America from the UK you cannot ignore the power of landscape. This image may not be the most striking or the most recognisable from such trips but for me it symbolizes so much of the environment. It’s just a simple picture, hand held, taken while driving somewhere between Bryce Canyon and Zion and I know It sounds cheesy but we really had the most brilliant time, just driving and taking pictures.

We had storm warnings all along the east coast of the island today with winds reaching upwards of 90 km/hour at its peak. I was down island and stopped to catch some of the action after it had slowed down a bit but the waves still towered way above me as they crashed over the sea wall in Qualicum this evening. I managed to stay dry LOL.
This is Storm, my tomcat. He spends most of his time on top of the heater, looking at the passerbys. He's a top cat, he is.

A storm off the Pacific missed us, dropping only a few scattered showers here, but I noted that there was a "rough seas' warning, advising of 15-19 foot waves. That prompted a quick drive to Luffenholtz Beach near Trinidad, where there are clifftop pull-outs to stop and take in the view.

Amazing storm blew in over the horizon in lismore, on the NSW north coast...was a pretty violent storm when it hit us too!
Day 289 of 365: "Storm Front"
Shortly after I got back lunch today, a wicked storm front passed. The clouds hovered and swirled before heavy winds kicked in and it downpoured. We need this rain so badly!
I got a total rush shooting these storm clouds. Gary Meulemans, Storm Chaser? I never thought in a million years I'd utter that phrase! :)
A few hours later, it's sunny and the sky is blue. There's a saying around here: "If you don't like the weather in Wisconsin, wait 5 minutes and it'll change."

Today Melbourne experienced a huge storm at around 3pm. This is some of the hail that fell from the sky. The size is around the same as a ping pong ball and in some parts of Melbourne the hail was even bigger.
