Toruń is one of most attractive and historic towns in Poland.

It is famous for being the birthplace ( in 1474 ) of the Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus whose epochal book, De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium is universally regarded as the starting point of modern astronomy.

In 1997 the old medieval quarter of Toruń comprising the Old Town ( 1233 ), the New Town ( 1264 ) and the Teutonic Knights Castle ( mid 13th c. ) was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for having preserved almost intact its original medieval street layout. Toruń is full of Gothic monuments of architecture, all built of brick, such as the Town Hall, The Leaning Tower, numerous churches and many burgher houses around the central market square and the surrounding streets.

If you ever are in Gdańsk on the coast, I recommend driving down to Toruń - it's only 2hrs away on the motorway - the place has a great artistic atmosphere and a lively cafe scene.

" And it echoes when I breathe

Until all you see is my ghost

Empty vessel, crooked teeth

Wish you could see

And they call me under

And I'm shaking like a leaf

And they call me under

And I wither underneath

In this storm

I am a stranger

I am an alien

Inside a structure

Are you really gonna love me when I'm gone?

With all my thoughts

And all my

Faults

I feel it biting

I feel it break my skin

So uninviting

Are you really gonna need me when I'm gone?"

Here's another pre-dawn storm photo from Porthcawl that was very underexposed that with a bit of tinkering I've managed to get something that I think is worth posting.

Early AM thunderstorm, the thunder and lightning ended quickly, but the storms went on for awhile.. God loves His children, what a blessing to be His!! Have a wonderful day and weekend!!

I was so hoping a T-storm would be materialized and maybe I'd be lucky enough to capture my very first lightning photo. Alas, it dissipated within ~20 minutes.

Hmmm, I probably can't label it "Storm Cloud" as no storm ever came out of it.

I wish you all a happy day!

The curtain is about to fall.

A storm is building and soon a portion of Denali was covered.

Mt. Hunter on the left. The native name for the mountain is Begguya, meaning "Denali's Child". For perspective, they are 8 miles apart.

Denali is the third-tallest of the “Seven Summits” (the tallest peak on each continent), after Mount Everest in Asia and Mount Aconcagua in South America.

What truly sets Denali apart is its latitude which leads to some extreme weather. It rises just two hundred miles south of the Artic Circle and is the coldest and stormiest of the Seven Summits.

The other six are close enough to the equator to escape the extremes of cold, snow and wind which regularly impact Denali.

Enjoy a wonderful weekend!

Severe Tropical Storm "Kammuri" was standing some 60 nautical miles south of Zhuhai. The strong ocean swell caused huge waves to crash against the seawall of the promenade on Lovers Avenue (情侣路).

What's usually a crowded place with couples strolling in the warm evening breeze was now nearly deserted. Just a few daring people were out and got wet.

And this is only a tropical storm - rest assured: when we had a genuine Typhoon it looked different and nobody would be here at all.

Another "reactivated" archive shot.

And no, the photo is not taken in Macau, though the buildings in the background are already in Macau.

When I visited Oban, there was a very strong gale which prevented a journey by ferry to Iona :( However, I spent a wonderful day walking in the storm and the next morning, there was a lovely calm and a rainbow :)

[ large ] [ Storm Companions ]

With Valentine’s day in mind, I wanted to post a love theme photo without the usual hearts and flowers theme. So here’s my Valentine’s day photo: two companions bracing the incoming storm together while enjoying the sunshine during its brief existence - “I’m your rock, and you’re my rock.”

Happy Valentine's Day!

you reach calm waters

Storm survivors indeed!

These are almost ready to bloom as all the others around the yard, Daffodils are very hardy and multiply like rabbits:-)

Have not lost one yet, they must be hundreds of them.

We got lucky with the storm thank God!

Hopefully we get some waves from this!!
