A "fairy stone" discovered while walking in Mossneuk Wood on the Lochliboside Hills (location removed).
It was lying in the grass just off the path and just seemed such a nice wee object to find. It's still there I hope.

A view of valley in the distance from a mountain ridge that is near Utah Lake. I hiked from where I had parked the truck/ALU-CAB camper to get to this spot before sundown. To my surprise, I discovered a large alter made of flat rocks. Who knows how long it has been there... perhaps from the time of Noah? Adam and Eve? Because I was hiking alone, I was intent on making it back to my overland truck before sundown to avoid possible issues with wild animals (mountain lions, bears)... but I wish I had stayed longer.

This wonderful old barn is actually made of stone which is uncommon even tho stones are VERY plentiful around here! This view is from across the river, so is the rear end of the building.

Some seriously good light at sunset at the Rocking Stones on Crow Stones Edge. I almost went to Kinder Scout but decided I’d take one of my 25 chances a year to park at Slippery Stones to make the walk here half the distance it is normally.
Watercourse
I’m guessing that the two stone slabs are bridging the gap over the stream of water. Maybe there if the need arises to get into it.
Seen on a walk that me and Herb took in Stacksteads. They made some disused railway tracks into a pleasant walkway and bridleway.
The stream would have gone under the old railway tracks.

The Model T Ford of stone circles, a very early example. Much older than Stonehenge by almost seven hundred years, being late Neolithic/ Early Bronze Age roughly five thousand years old.
Views in all direction from the circle are spectacular.

Léa embodies the romantic but tragic image of the 'completely stoned' artist !
Her music is both an escape and a cry from the heart, and while her condition may be fascinating to some, it also raises questions about the dangers of excess in the artistic world !
The line between creativity and self-destruction is often a thin one for those who live their passion intensely !

In a narrow calle workers had dug up many of the stones to have access to services under them. For some reason Venetian paving stones are flat only on one side. Perhaps that helps prevent them from moving when there is flooding ?

Happy "Smile on Saturday" with "natural stones"!
... and thank you for your views, faves and comments!
there is no more stone! it has become dust. going to my album 'matières, you can see it before when it was already a stone who lost its color.
Sentinel of Stone stands as a striking testament to the power of time and erosion. This lone white hoodoo, set against the fiery backdrop of Bryce Canyon’s iconic amphitheater, commands attention with its stark contrast and elegant form. Carved by the forces of nature, it rises like a silent guardian, watching over the ever-changing landscape. The interplay of light and shadow enhances the textures and colors, making this scene a captivating glimpse into the geological artistry of the Southwest.
Everything on this croft was built of stone the wee sheds and the house and the byre built to last of course

Stone on Herringbone and a background layer of feathers which reminded me of herringbone also. The long stone would be just a tiny bit over 3 inches, so I had to crop a bit off
