The climb was tough—scrambling over steep, crumbling rocks with my gear strapped tightly. Each step felt precarious, but I knew the view would be worth it. And it was. I set up my camera on this hidden stretch of Renvyle’s coastline, where the rough, rounded boulders gave way to a sweeping view of the sea.
With the ND filter in place, I captured the water, transformed into a mist-like veil, stretching out toward the horizon. The setting sun's light danced on the surface, casting soft, golden reflections off the rounded stones in the foreground, turning them into mirrors. Out in the distance, jagged rocks pierced the sea, leading my eye toward the horizon where the sun was sinking slowly behind a line of dark, dramatic clouds. Some were lit up in fiery hues, while others remained shrouded in shadow, creating a striking contrast of light and darkness over the water.
In that moment, the world felt suspended—silent, timeless, caught between day and night. The effort to get there faded into insignificance as the beauty of the scene unfolded.

A Sunday morning surprise last weekend while up in cottage country north of Kingston. Thank goodness the dock had been taken out a couple of weeks earlier as the staircase leading down to the lake looked a little risky.

Orchids are a temperamental lot, so when one of our Paphiopedilum decide to show off, it’s hard not to make their portraits. These two blooms are the first of four on this plant, so I’ll surmise that it’s pretty happy at the moment. At the very least, they are stepping out.

More from the hotel project and back in the bar: a movement shot of a father and son moment and a quiet look over the top of high back chairs.
I just watched a you-tube video on composition, the crop tool is the landscape photographers friend. So this is a crop :-)
The first time we came here around five years ago we struggled to find the place, there was only one other couple here and we worked out the route together. The small bridge here is part of the old route across the south of Iceland, on foot or horseback.
This trip it was a well worn path, people everywhere taking selfies of themselves in the place to be, instead of taking pictures 'of' the place to be. There were people walking right out through the water to the edge of the falls just for 'that' shot of 'themselves'.

Step lightly on our world folks.
